Economics explained: capitalism or crony capitalism. Capitalism includes a minimum of rules and regulations to ensure a level playing field for competing firms. People are free to buy and sell. Customers want to maximise satisfaction and firms want to maximise profits. Profits…

Exactly, what other job could you do, where you manage policy for an entire sector, that you have no qualifications or knowledge of
Keep up the good work. Have you tried LinkedIn ?
I like to think that in my own small way - engaging folk on here and disabusing the few people I meet daily - that I am doing what I can. Sadly I think only a crisis can bring the realizations society needs.
Bingo! Right on that page John. There are many times over the past 20 years that I have likened the capitalist model we are running today to fascism.
Agreed.
Ferguson himself is not an economist - he’s an historian that thinks he understands economics. Dangerous with the huge following he has.
That is a different argument. I would agree that the current model of capitalism isn’t working at all well. But socialism is NEVER the answer.

Totally agree
I worry for my kids . The damage they are doing and can still do during this parliament will be unprecedented . That stony faced unwillingness to listen drives me potty . Lies / incompetence . 2029 can’t come soon enough and I hate wishing my time away .
Socialist dogma . A huge chip on their shoulders against anyone who is a farmer , or a business owner or has a decent pension or stands to inherit .
In a nutshell. They are all useless, and if not politicians would be unemployable
The Market will react as is appropriate. The government mandated rates are artificial manipulations of the market
If only we had a full Brexit instead of a brino.
