And we're playing there again on August 31. eventbrite.co.uk/e/second-helpi…
Last year, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Jay Rayner Sextet to Green Room, and it was a night to remember 🎶 It means the world to hear that kind of feedback from our artists 💚 @jayrayner1
Have some pics from today’s review: the bread with dipping gravy, the risotto, the ham and the sage leaves.
Some new restaurant openings are like Big West End shows. All the critics descend and today I’m on duty for @ftweekend at Town by Stevie Parle. It’s a total show stopper, full of dipping gravy, risotto with bone marrow and courgette fritti. on.ft.com/44h6L8a

For @ftweekend I am being a journalist responding to the hot new thing: the rebirth of cult Thai restaurant Singburi. Delicious food, great vibe, but can a unique restaurant in Leyton still be unique in Shoreditch? on.ft.com/4o4NUoq
Ahead of the festival I’m in Edinburgh for @ftweekend at Moss, a small, intense restaurant using ingredients from close by to make a point which is (mostly) delicious. on.ft.com/4lEEDlz
Delighted to say I'll be performing my live show Nights Out At Home at the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival on September 27 at Snape Maltings. Ticket link below (NB: ticket for festival also needed). brittenpearsarts.org/events/jay-ray…
For this week’s @ftweekend I’m at Shwen Shwen, Maria Bradford’s new restaurant celebrating the earth and fire flavours of Sierra Leone: chicken with palm butter, shrimp with lemongrass gel, moringa cream millefeuille and many other lovely things. on.ft.com/466ltQE
Next Thurs the JR Sextet are @pizzaexpresslive Holborn: a few tickets left. We’ve just added songs by Alison Moyet and Fairground Attraction to our dive into the 80s chart hits with jazz in their bones. Hot jazz + cool air conditioning. jayrayner.co.uk/shows
For this week’s @ftweekend restaurant review, I’m talking tip integrity, bia doughs and (almost) the best pizza I’ve ever tried with the rise of Breadstall, on SoHo’s Berwick Street. on.ft.com/40v5xUe
For today’s @ftweekend I am at Berut Bistro which, as the name suggests is a delightful small Lebanese restaurant in London’s Marylebone serving many great dishes including the Beirut Cloud, my dessert of the year so far, and quite possibly beyond. on.ft.com/44aeHqd
Very sad news from Manchester. Medlock Canteen was one of the best openings in the city in years. Proof if it were needed of how brutal it is out there for hospitality for now.
This is so sad. A great news addition to Manchester's restaurant scene, but can't survive in this climate. @jayrayner1 rated it, and if this sort of place can't survive what can?
Our JR Sextet June London date, on Tuesday week, is down to the last dozen or so. Meanwhile we're playing at the Marlborough festival next Saturday night. All on the shows page.
Just setting off to for the huge fun of playing Pub In the Park with the sextet. Here's a shot of our first time, when we were still a quartet, back in 2019. Meanwhile our monthly London dates with Pizza Express for June, July and august are now on sale. jayrayner.co.uk/shows
For this weeks @ftweekend restaurant review I’m in Liverpool at Manifest, a smart restaurant attempting to tell stories through food. Great cooking, and a playlist of Blondie and OMD. on.ft.com/4kZ8jZM
The great @zoelaughlin plays with her shepherd's pie for this morning's tkc
The “fitted carpet”, the “paving slab”, “bathroom tiles” and “crazy paving”. Can you guess what the culinary topic was that demanded I conduct this analysis? The Kitchen Cabinet on @BBCRadio4 today at 10:30 and then on catch-up and podcast etc. #bbctkc
Coming up shortly

For my @ftweekend.com restaurant review I’m inside the landmark that is the Stockport Pyramid, which has become the Royal Nawaab, an astonishing Indian buffet which is laughing in the face of the challenges facing Hospitalty. on.ft.com/4mPJ4Ld
