For those keeping score at home on my return to @UTAustin while running a TV show, two small biz's, and having a family... Got two A's. One in American Literature which I somehow forgot to take in 2003 and The Politics of Film. American Lit in 6-ish weeks was intense. To be…
Hi @jaybsauceda - @austinpetsalive volunteers and staff are set up for a third day helping Sandy Creek neighbors at 14209 Sandy Meadow Cir and at Round Mountain Baptist Church, 14500 Round Mountain Rd in Leander. Residents impacted by the flooding can stop by for pet supplies.
Ryan has been doing such a great job representing Texas for @NBCNews. Proud of this guy.
There will come a day sooner rather than later when the network correspondents have to leave, when the volunteers need to go back to work, when the donations will slow, but the people of Kerr County will not need any less support. This woman asked us to tell people: keep helping.
Wow. Incredible work done by SAR.
Kerrville officials announced Saturday that the number of people listed missing dropped from more than 160 to three. kxan.com/independence-d…
There was an overwhelming amount of coverage of Kerrville’s flooding, but Sandy Creek was hit many ways just as hard. According to residents the official response has been slow, but the community moved fast. youtu.be/-9pLjrWTmKw
What's the over under on how long until the Astronomer Coldplay story is a Netflix special?
Well, the Board of Astronomer has spoken RE: the Coldplay Cold Plunge their CEO and CPO took in front of the world. Great scoop from @emayhawk. axios.com/2025/07/18/col…
Lord I pray I never meet the person who designed these coffee lids

This is wild.
Before and after…Lake Travis has taken on a different look lately after the historic floods in the Hill Country. Over 200 billion gallons of water have gone into our lakes. My friend Gil Dominy sent me photos of what it looked like for 6 years on Lake Travis but now it is full.
My compadre ArnieTex just released his new book that get your TexMex cooking leveled up. Proud of this dude. Grabbed 3 copies at his signing here in Austin at @StillATX. Boom!

Arch has nailed the "Kappa Sig president begging university leadership not to kick his frat off campus" look.
Arch.
It takes a village, it takes a state, it takes a country. I want to pause for a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who has reached out with words of support and encouragment. Covering the flood is something Texas Country Reporter would not historically have done as…
Couldn’t care less about Horns down. Penalizing it was dumb. Hilarious that we live rent free in so many other teams’ minds as to have them do it when we aren’t even playing them.
John McDaid, SEC's coordinator of officials, told @On3sports there were no unsportsmanlike conduct penalties accessed last year for players using the Horns down signal. I'm somewhat surprised - and disappointed - by this. I thought It Just Means More?
One of the saddest things about covering this flood is the vitriol of people online. I don’t care who you voted for but this mindset is not ok. Not in Red state tragedies. Not in Blue state tragedies. I saw it in both. During the CA fires and TX floods. We’re all Americans.

One moment they were in their home, the next the home was floating down the river. My @TexasMonthly colleague Aaron recounts the horrifying experience of the flood, and the loss they endured. Must read -> texasmonthly.com/news-politics/…

First session of summer school is officially over. 6 hours of coursework taken at @UTAustin while juggling kids, work, and this week in particular, reporting on a natural disaster for @TexasMonthly. Somehow wrote a paper on Wednesday night, took 3 quizzes, and studied for two…
In Texas, one only needs to “Look for the helpers” to find the optimism we’ll need to make it through this…
I take exception to calling the personal items deposited along the Guadalupe River, debris. They represent lives lost. They represent lives loved. My photo essay for @TexasMonthly of what the flood waters left behind: texasmonthly.com/news-politics/…
