Palestinian footballer Hamada Saleh, top scorer for Al-Ahly Gaza, put his boots up for sale to feed his family. “Sadly, this is all that remains of my football memories… for sale.” FIFA has completely abandoned its responsibility to protect its players.
We gave a close read to the new 80-page Israeli report on 10/7 sexual violence. What we found is that rather than present new evidence, it spends most of its time arguing that the current evidentiary standards are actually too rigorous. Incredible turn to take. Some excerpts:
WFP Chief Cindy McCain describes how Israel killed over 60 aid-seekers in northern Gaza yesterday. “They were hungry. They were starving,” she said. “All of a sudden, Israeli tanks, Israeli guns, Israeli weapons of all kinds started firing at the crowd.”
This is a crane installed by Israel in aid distribution sites. This crane has so far killed ~1,500 people waiting for aid and injured ~10,000. One of the characteristics of this crane is that it is controlled automatically, without human intervention, detecting danger on its own…

WFP Statement | #Gaza On the morning of 20 July, a 25 truck WFP convoy carrying vital food assistance crossed the Zikim border point destined for starving communities in northern Gaza. Shortly after passing the final checkpoint beyond the Zikim crossing point into Gaza, the…
How can Israel possibly justify such atrocities? That they keep happening with impunity encourages other Israeli soldiers to replicate them. x.com/tparsi/status/…
Soooo much good original reporting comes out of @kut and the Texas Newsroom, a collaboration of NPR and local stations.
🧵NEW: For years, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said he did not need to disclose more about his real estate interests to state ethics regulators. Of the 10 properties he or his blind trust own — most purchased in the last five years — he'd only ever listed four. #txlege
The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention – named after Raphael Lemkin, a Holocaust survivor who coined the term genocide – says it plainly: "No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits. GET FOOD AND WATER INTO GAZA NOW. IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU MUST USE IT."
The @LemkinInstitute is calling on every leader in the world to step in immediately with measures that ensure food and water gets into Gaza right now. No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits. GET FOOD AND WATER INTO GAZA NOW. IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU…

🚨AFP issues a statement saying this is the 1st time in their entire history their journalists on the ground face death by starvation
Alex de Waal on how Israel has deliberately chosen and calculatedly planned to inflict genocide by starvation in spite of the ICJ orders on humanitarian aid.
"There is no case since WW2 of starvation that has been so minutely designed and controlled" Famine expert Alex de Waal on Israel deliberately starving an entire civilian population
This is reminiscent of footage of the KKK in the American South.

Euro-Med Monitor’s team documented 42 cases, mostly children, elderly, and pregnant women, who arrived at #Gaza’s hospitals collapsed from severe malnutrition in just six hours, as Israel maintains a suffocating starvation policy against over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza,…
“Technical error.” That’s what Israeli officials called an airstrike that hit children waiting in line for water. For almost two years, Israeli leaders have been claiming that deadly attacks against civilians are accidental.
EU’s @kajakallas says there’s been “some good signs” in aid access to Gaza. But for NRC and many others, no relief has entered for 142 days. Not one truck. Not one delivery. For the few actors allowed to bring in limited supplies, the UN reports that from 19 May to 14 July, an…

We are doing this. Our governments. Our taxes. Our arms sales. This is our Holocaust. Our Cambodian killing fields. Our Balkans. Our Rwandan genocide. We are doing this and history will never forgive us. Gaza:
"The cases reaching us are of people who collapsed in the streets from lack of nutrition."
