My take on this, for what it’s worth (nothing), is that Pie and Beer Day is really really harmless… basically people who don’t enjoy the traditional Pioneer Day celebrations have this new and different thing that they like doing instead, and that’s fine and good

Should be pointed out that the Federal Reserve doesn't take money from taxpayers but rather generates its own income through interest from reserves it holds and revenue from open market operations...and then any excess goes to the Treasury.
