I spend more time with my medical students and dermatology residents talking about AI than dermatology…and that accurately reflects the relative importance of AI to the future of medicine IMO.
Great data is only the first step to a great paper. A great paper is only the first step to great innovation. An average grant can still lead to the above oddly enough.
For better or worse, the zeitgeist has changed to no longer value opacity, trust in institutions, centralization, status/prestige, and credentials. The future is transparency, "trustless" technologies, decentralization, tangible value, and actual track record.
