Most ppl only focus on metaphors & double entendres when it comes to rap lyrics but in this verse Kendrick is stacking a bunch of literary devicesβinternal rhyme scheme, alliteration, puns, sonic motifs & paronomasia all in that 14-bar βgenβ scheme. I see why he won that Pulitzer
This is exactly the reactions you expect when playing an unreleased Kendrick verse
