Never had His Law been so kept and honored before. Son of God and Son of man in One Person. He in this two fold character keeps the Father’s Law, and in keeping it provides a righteousness so large and full it can be imputed to others; and God be glorified. — Horatius Bonar
There is not a direct correlation with embracing Classical Theism and then going on to become Anglican. Surely there is a name for some kind of fallacy or even syndrome to describe those who say that there is such a certain correlation.
The imagery of the family in the Bible is to press for relationships. The imagery of the body in the Bible is to press for activity. Yes, we rest in Christ but we ought not rest in growing in love for each other and looking for ways to serve each other in our local church.
This past Lord’s Day we took some time to honour the life and ministry of Pastor @johnmacarthur.
“Deny this doctrine [of the imputed righteousness of Christ from His active obedience] and I ask you— how are men pardoned at all?…The Law-giver has Himself obeyed the Law.” - Charles H. Spurgeon
“To some, he was too bold. To others, too blunt. But to those who love the truth, he was a gift.” — Good and true words about John MacArthur which I heard this morning.
The life and ministry of John MacArthur was an immense gift to the Church. Today most all graduates in New Zealand were gathered together for a Pastors & Wives retreat as we got news of his passing. I will cherish the time with him in chapel, at GCC, and throughout my ministry.

The more times goes on the more I see Ai as having many detrimental aspects for the Christian life and ministry. One day soon, Pastor @SteveSwartz10, Toby, and I will sit down on @NoLastingCity_ to talk about this and more concerning Ai.
The kingdom is a spiritual reality right now… A kingdom in its most basic sense is a group of people ruled by a king. Christians have acknowledged Christ as their King and are subjects in His kingdom. — John MacArthur
We are called Christians, and it is our privilege and honor that we are so: we name the name of the meek and lowly Jesus, but how few are actuated by His spirit, or conform to His example! — Matthew Henry
“By beholding the glory of Christ we shall be made fit and ready for heaven.” – John Owen
Instagram is empty. Facebook is empty. X is empty. Seeking satisfaction in 1) other people’s esteem of you 2) a good reputation 3) comfort is empty. Jesus Christ is full. Fill yourself up with Him. Think regularly upon the depths of the Word of God in the Gospel.

He who despises holiness, and neglects good works, under the vain pretense of giving honour to justification by faith, shows plainly that he has not the mind of Christ. — J.C Ryle
"Christ, the subject of the gospel, is the sweetest and most delicious subject in the world." Puritan George Newton, An Exposition of John 17, p 277.
Regeneration precedes faith! Amen, dear brother.
FROM MY BLOG ARCHIVES: In 2015, I tweeted that regeneration precedes faith—and it stirred a lot of debate. This post explains why. The new birth is God’s sovereign act that enables repentance and belief. We preach faithfully but only God gives life. conradmbewe.com/2015/04/the-ne…
The affirmation that Jesus is not presently reigning from the Davidic throne does not mean that He is not presently reigning as King in any sense whatsoever. Jesus rules and reigns now as King. (Matt 25:31; cf. Rev 3:21)
Christ-like character is “not pugnacious, but gentle and peaceable” (1 Tim 3:3). In our zeal for truth, we must not become eager for division. Fighting internet wars over tertiary issues can cost far more than they’re worth.
"Be of one mind," says the apostle, "live in peace — and the God of love and peace shall be with you" (2 Corinthians 13:11), implying that if they did not live in peace, they must not look to have His company long with them. William Gurnall
