Yesterday, Tim Byrd and his family said bye to Kabwata Baptist Church. They returned to the USA after serving among us for 7 years in reaching students for Christ. Our hearts first connected in 2013 at Cross Conference (with Byron and Thabiti) as we talked about ministry matters.

Last Sunday, I should have been in Abuja Nigeria participating in this ordination of the first eldership in our church plant, Trinity Baptist Church. In 2018, we sent Peter Abutu Joshua to plant this church. Now, 7 years later, the church has reached autonomy. Praise God with us!

Hot off the press! The latest issue of Reformation Zambia magazine is out. As you can see, it is on the subject of suffering. If you are in Zambia, order your copy from Evergreen Publishers. I think the new look cover is impressive but I’ll admit that I’m biased!

Today is a day I never thought would happen. Saidi Chishimba was the one who should have been sitting where I am seeing me off into the next life. He was younger than me and as fit as a fiddle. Yet here we are interring his remains. May God comfort Maureen and their three girls!

On behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ on the African continent I want to express our profound gratitude to God for the faithful life and ministry of Dr John MacArthur as he goes to his rest and reward. “A big tree has truly fallen in the village.” Until we meet again…!
My work in Kenya ended yesterday. I enjoyed fellowship with the saints at Grace Baptist Church, Nairobi, under the leadership of Pastor Sam Oluoch. I preached on “The God of second chance” from Hosea 3. This group photo only has those who remained for the PM sing-along service!

One disadvantage with travel is that you miss out on epoch-making events at home. One such event was the wedding of Mwitupa Makashinyi to Kasewe Banda a few minutes ago at Lusaka Baptist Church. Their parents are among our closest pastoral ministry allies. May God go before them!

The Africa Baptist Theological Education Network 2025 conference is coming to an end today. Thanks for your prayers. We had about 20 African countries represented. Although I took the lion’s share of the speaking, I learned a lot from the other 11 speakers. May God be glorified!

One of the joys of my current visit to Kenya is receiving 2 of my books which have been translated into the Malagasy language of Madagascar. These are GOD’S DESIGN FOR THE CHURCH and YOUR DISCIPLESHIP MANUAL. I pray that God will use these books to bless his church in Madagascar.

Dashcam Chronicles: I was rushing to the airport this morning but kept within the speed limit. Two cars overtook me and drove right into a speed trap. The cops took advantage of a “smoke screen” and caught many unwary drivers. The thumbs up I got from the smiling cop said it all!
Mark Chanski in full flight in the Kabwata Baptist Church auditorium, teaching on marriage as God intended it to be. His winsome and sensitive approach makes his biblical expositions so relatable. May the lessons learned help strengthen the lives of all in attendance!

May the Lord bless your church through your study of this book in Burundi.
Good morning, brothers and sisters in the Lord. Please be reminded to read the last chapter of God's Design for The Church: How Can You Help in Reforming Your Church. The Church shall meet this Sunday after service and study through this chapter. Have a blessed day.
It was a happy occasion welcoming our friend Mark Chanski to Zambia. He’ll be preaching starting tomorrow up to Tuesday at Kabwata Baptist Church. We have meetings lined up for married couples (tomorrow) and young adults (Sunday to Tuesday). Watch this space for ongoing details!

Two more days to go. We're praying for safe travel for our speaker, Mark Chanski. He's the well-known author of MANLY DOMINION and WOMANLY DOMINION. He has been a pastor and has been married with his wife Dianne for 43 years. He must know what he is talking about. Come and learn!

FROM MY BLOG ARCHIVES: In 2015, I tweeted that regeneration precedes faith—and it stirred a lot of debate. This post explains why. The new birth is God’s sovereign act that enables repentance and belief. We preach faithfully but only God gives life. conradmbewe.com/2015/04/the-ne…
My day ended with fulfilling a preaching assignment with our senior youth ministry who held a music concert outside our church auditorium. It was called “The Nostalgic Music Concert.” My mind went back 44 years ago when we began “Kabwata outreach”. Who would have envisioned this?
Life in Africa can go from Western to cultural events within minutes. Today I made it in time for a photo with the couple getting married at KBC. Later in the afternoon I attended a cultural event where a grandson in the wider family was being shown (what is cooked on) the fire.

These were glorious days!

Just received: The Korean edition of my book, UNITY—STRIVING SIDE BY SIDE FOR THE GOSPEL. In these days when Christians easily divide over the flimsiest reasons, may God use this book in Korea and in other parts of the world to unite his church. Pray with me to that end!
