A fabulous team effort by Dr. J, @moolakaari, @sahmriAU, @ericfigueroaPhD (@SF_IRACDA ). Might help explain why the low #LowFODMOP diet works in #IBS, #Gut. Pretty exciting - made possible by taxpayers and funding from @NIH and @NIDDKgov.
Thrilled to share our preprint - A Cellular Basis for Heightened Gut Sensitivity in Females biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Why is GI pain more common in women? Blame it on estrogen! It ramps up the cross-talk between L-cells and EC cells — making the gut more sensitive to pain signals.
Backed by a $100M gift from Joan and Sandy Weill, UCSF and @StanfordMed @StanfordCancer are launching Weill Cancer Hub West, a $200M initiative in team science to accelerate cancer research and improve care over the next decade. tiny.ucsf.edu/ppVRqt

(1/3) Excited to introduce our new GRAB sensors for a series of steroid hormones! These tools enable real-time detection of steroid hormone dynamics in vivo🐭🧠.Happy to share these sensors and welcome any feedback! Please contact [email protected] for information.
Microbiomes shape our biology from gut-brain, skin, immunology, and more. Here, Rebecka Sepela et al explores octopus “taste by touch” sensation to ask how environmental microbiomes drive animal behavior. @CellPressNews, @MCB_Harvard, @MBLScience cell.com/cell/fulltext/…
Between alarms and sheltering, I learned last night that my postdoc mentor, Professor Atul Butte @atulbutte, has passed away, and he is only 55 years old. This is devastating news 💔. Atul was a giant in so many ways. He was a visionary leader in translational bioinformatics…
There’s a common misconception among scientists, especially trainees, that the BBB, Trump’s budget bill, currently under Senate review cuts NIH funding by 40%. In reality, this bill doesn’t concern NIH funding - it focuses on mandatory spending and some Trump priorities m: tax…
Wish I could go!
