Raising awareness about PSSD, an iatrogenic condition caused by SSRI:s. I was denied informed consent. SSRI:s are the biggest mistake in my life. 🇫🇮
SSRIs and all other SRI antidepressants can permanently destroy a patient’s sexual function (PSSD). The pharmaceutical companies knew this was possible back in 1987 and chose to hide it from doctors and patients. There are still no warnings in the US.
#PSSD has been known about for 35 years, yet patients still aren’t being warned. @DrDavidHealy discusses how drug companies and regulators were aware of enduring sexual dysfunction following discontinuation of SSRIs as far back as 1987.
A great book I just finished and highly recommend! I first heard of @LauraDelano and her book on The Tucker Carlson podcast. When I listened to the interview, I knew I had to read the book. I have been curious for some time about iatrogenic harm, and Delano's story presented a…
Should I take an antidepressant? Professor emeritus Peter C Gøtzsche explains in four minutes what the effects are of depression drugs on depression, the risk of suicide and people’s sex lives. For more information, see articles and books on scientificfreedom.dk
"I think we need a much smaller drug development industry [...] but they're just killing people, I mean, they are hurting people, they are putting people on drugs that they don't even need to be on" Dr. Witt-Doerring (@taperclinic) takes a swipe at the drug development industry.
Stop locking posts when you don't like what the public is saying.
Some antidepressants can help reduce pain by affecting nerve signals. •How they work: Antidepressants are often used for depression, but they can also help with pain. Some types, called tricyclic antidepressants, are especially good at treating pain. They work by affecting…
@RobertKennedyJr You asked us to speak up—so I am. Finasteride was approved as a cosmetic drug for hair loss, and also prescribed for bladder issues. But behind the promise was a silent epidemic—young men and even teens left with permanent damage. It stole my son’s life.…
They warned us about the hair. But not the brain. Not the soul. Not the silence. Behind every bottle of finasteride is a hidden epidemic— Men and women robbed of their identity. Their hormones hijacked. Their nervous systems shattered. Their lives suspended in grief. This is…
-Serotonin plays a crucial role in fetal development & SSRIs disrupt the serotonin system. -SSRI use in pregnancy has been associated with miscarriage, birth defects, preterm birth, postpartum hemorrhage, NICU admission, & other issues. -SSRIs alter fetal brain development, with…
There is no overall evidence that SSRIs are unsafe during pregnancy, and in fact SSRIs can be lifesaving for pregnant women with mood & anxiety disorders. That's a key point of a letter APA sent today to U.S. FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary, expressing its alarm over some of…
What you are feeling has nothing to do with the events of your life….The content of your mind or your lifestyle. You have an underlying mental illness called major depressive disorder. You need to take this drug and just trust me. How does it impact your baby if pregnant? Dont…
Someone recently put forward the link containing this statement as an argument for prescribing antidepressants to new mothers. References to the mythical chemical imbalance are all over such websites, which indicates that this myth is still taught. my.clevelandclinic.org/health/disease…
can even be much more severe than this. It can mean one person permanently lose their ability to feel any kind of human emotion. I think this needs to be more discussed when raising awareness about PSSD.
Just saw that @thismorning were discussing whether all employers should have to legally train every employee on ‘neurodiversity’ which is totally out of step with our evidence base. If all employers must provide neurodiversity training to millions of people, it’s probably a…
Not a good idea to fiddle only with certain neurotransmitters: our bodies have a delicate balance of these & messing with them will cause other problems - that will be [probably] be ignored/dismissed by docs & the effects blamed on other things AND 'patient factors' as usual.
Anthropologists have shown that in many societies around the globe what we call ‘post natal depression’ isn’t a thing, as the community relies around the new mother in multiple supportive ways. Medicalisation exonerates our society’s relative lack of community care…
My biggest regret in life and biggest mistake I’ve EVER made is the day I turn up to my doctors office with increased stressed over uni. That day has has cost me greatly. I swallowed sertraline I felt high and confused. I would never step foot in a doctors office again.
A decade ago, when we warned about the harms of over-medicalisation, no one in power paid attention. Now they do, as the results are impossible to ignore as an entire generation suffers the personal & ideological harms of their distress being unduly pathologised & medicated...
"We have to take the narrative back, and, you know, we have to realize we're competing against the most funded industry that's ever existed—the pharmaceutical industry." Dr. Josef Witt-Doerring (@taperclinic) talks about the power of social media and offers a message of hope.
Children will be taught that “worrying and feeling down” are normal and are not mental health conditions.. Revised relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) guidance issued to schools this month instructs teachers not to encourage self-diagnosis thetimes.com/uk/education/a…
HARD truth is everything that goes into pregnant body affects foetus. Clearly there’s need to treat women with SERIOUS health conditions/meds. But, don’t act like it can’t pose risk to foetus. Anything counter to this reality feels like “feelings” or PROFIT$ over reality.
Trump's health leaders are fools/knaves/charlatans/conspiracy theorists. He picked worst person in world for each health position. Makary, FDA head, seemed better choice-but he too is a disaster. Trump corrupts all he touches. "You lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas."
An addict, likely a homeless person, asked me for money. He likely assumed I was better off than him— but I believe the opposite is true. He has probably been allowed to keep his feelings and his sexuality, unlike me. Thank you, doctor, for what you did to me. #PSSD
"I think the PSSD folks—the Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction folks—have brought in more attention to that, the sort of chemical injury that we're seeing." @AdamUrato1, Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at MetroWest Medical Center, at the @US_FDA Expert Panel on SSRIs and Pregnancy.
