Let me be very clear about forced injections on a psychiatric ward. 🧵
Determined efforts are well underway to mislead the public into thinking antidepressant withdrawal is no big deal. It’s not a coincidence these efforts are ramping up now… They’re terrified.
The review by Kalfas on antidepressant withdrawal in JAMA Psychiatry will mislead as it is based largely on people who have taken antidepressants for 8-12 weeks in 11 RCTs-this will under-estimate the risks for millions of long-term users. bit.ly/4eFrZzO Thread (1/n)
Wow! Lithium almost killed me! The disease I got was from lithium. I suffered many horrific effects, and when I finally got it out of my system, my body got a chance to heal, and 25 years later, at 77, I am a liberated woman with 4 grandchildren.
I feel sorry for their patients. Blocked so can't respond! Ruffalo mentions "disease" 3 times. Demoralising to those healing. NO this is not why we don't like Lithium. Blog pinned at the moment. NO it didn't stop symptoms. Why don't they personally try 1000 mg long term?
25 years ago, I escaped the psych prison when I found out the truth about psychiatry, its toxic drugs and electroshock. I got free from drugs, learned about the survivor movement, and co-founded MindFreedom Ireland in 2003. We are proud to be still active today.
Laura Delano escaped the psychiatric prison she had been in for 10 years by skipping the three Ds: doctors, diagnoses and drugs. See remarkable interview with Tucker Carlson: bit.ly/44aW4DN. @brokenmedics, @SecKennedy, @martinkulldorff, @DrJBhattacharya, @MartyMakary
Came too late for me, 40 years too late. Had to be off the drugs because they impaired my judgement. Brainwashed too. Perhaps easier to brainwash someone who is drugged.
Everything changed when I realized my ever-worsening mental, emotional, and physical problems were not being caused by my so-called "treatment-resistant mental illness" but largely by the treatment, itself. Who else has had this experience? What has it looked like for you? ❤️🩹
What do you make of last week's attempt to airbrush antidepressant withdrawal away with a rigged study?
Maria A Oquendo, the new Chair of DSM-6 (yes it's coming) has received unrestricted educational grants and/or lecture fees form AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Eli Lilly, Janssen, Otsuka, Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, and Shire. She receives royalties from the commercial use of....
Oh, you were raped and beat by someone you trusted and loved? That's crazy. Now, about this genetic chemical imbalance in your brain that we can't measure chemically and don't know the genetic root for but can diagnose at a whim... that's your actual problem. Let's get you…
I don’t think people are aware of how many women who are sexual trauma victims become diagnosed bipolar disorder and/or borderline personality disorder. We are still in the dark ages.
The most delusional person in your MDT meeting is the psychiatrist sat opposite you as they discuss your ill brain and chemical in-balance. Don’t forget this ever.
Anyone who claims psychiatry is safe is lying.
This documentary is a trigger warning to anyone that has been forcefully restrained and forcefully injected with drugs. I would suggest you do not watch this programme. The graphic reconstruction is a living nightmare. How to get over such behaviour. bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod…
It’s all rainbows writing fancy marketing posts about SSRI’s symptoms but when queried on these symptoms being ‘manageable’… nothing. Not one psychiatrist on this platform can answer how to manage it but claimed in this post it can be? They haven’t got a CLUE.
🧠 Antidepressants: Myths vs. Evidence 📘 As a Professor of Psychiatry in a public hospital, I’m deeply concerned by recent viral claims suggesting antidepressants are “ineffective,” “dangerous,” or even “worse than the illness.” Let’s address these claims with evidence—not fear…
During years of work as a psych nurse, I saw many patients who had been taking antidepressants for years suddenly develop mood swings. This led to a new diagnosis of bipolar disorder, requiring new types of medications to be added. Why does no one talk about this?
40 years doctors sat opposite me. I was drug impaired from the outset, after the first script. They wasted 40 years of consultations and wasted my time, wrecking my health year after year. They did that to me.
I have been visiting relatives, people not seen for years or seen infrequently. It is such a joy to be completely emotionally connected to people after 50 years of disconnection. This is living. I maybe can't walk far or have a normal life but this is more important.
I lost my freedom before I was even assessed. I was drugged, misdiagnosed, and silenced. This is what happened to me inside NBRHC — and it’s still happening to others. 📖 Read my story: medium.com/@lxfx33/title-… #PsychSurvivor #MentalHealthMatters #NBRHC #CPSO #HealthcareReform
Something is going on in my brain. I don’t know what. I have clues. It happened like a flicker switch when my GP told me to alt 25mg sert then stop For 18 months now I have been in nightmare I can’t describe MH services have been like a form of self harm Better days?
200 years of the Iatrogenic Harm and Denial 1/ Doctors have introduced one drug after another- alcohol, opium, morphine, cocaine, bromides, barbiturates, benzos and now SSRIs. Every time, when patients become dependent, medicine has the same response: Deny it’s drug. Blame the…
There is something far wrong with psychiatry when patients have to battle to escape from it and spend years trying to recover from it.
I remember my first encounter with psychiatry 50 yrs ago. I was already sedated by drugs from neurology. My first impression was what a strange bunch of people, they don't seem to know what they are doing. (1)
ADHD: once a disorder, now a brand. This is how corporations use media to repackage psychiatric labels—transforming ADHD into something "cool," "creative," even aspirational. Being labeled used to carry stigma. But when marketing reframes it as the trait of musicians,…
