I'm thrilled to share our new study out in @NatureMedicine! We show that a blood test can estimate how aged or youthful one’s organs are and that these organ ages predict future disease and lifespan. Final paper from my PhD in the @wysscoray lab. 🧵1/12 🔗 nature.com/articles/s4159…
I'll be presenting this work and new unpublished work tomorrow 9am ET at AAIC. Also presenting a poster in the Monday session, poster #102349. Hope to see you there!
I am excited to present our new study out in @NatureMedicine where we discover a novel synaptic protein biomarker to predict if and when someone will get Alzheimer’s disease dementia. Part 2/3 from my PhD work in the @wysscoray lab. 🧵1/12 Full study 🔗: nature.com/articles/s4159…
New preprint! tl;dr — We ran around late at night to record wild rats in NYC and figured out how to quantify their behavior and environment. 🧵 w/ Dima Batenkov, @zamakany, @e_mackevicius biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
The first pivotal, FDA-enabling clinical trial of a longevity drug is now fully enrolled We will monitor these dogs for the next ~4 years, quantifying millions of data points across biological changes, quality of life, disease, + lifespan
1,300+ dogs. 72 clinics. One giant leap toward the first FDA-approved lifespan extension drug for dogs. The STAY study is fully enrolled!

If you don’t have time to take a walk, then you don’t have time to do science. Charles Darwin would take two walks every day on his "thinking path", not as a break from science, but as a crucial part of it.
One thing that really bothers me with the new "virtual cell" terminology is that is currently largely focused on a very narrow definition of models that can predict effects of trans perturbations (gene dosage, drugs etc) on gene expression. 1/
