Tuscan countryside, Italian food and… chromatin modifications! Thats as good as it gets. Greatly looking forward to this:
You can now apply to present/attend the next Gordon Research Seminar on Histone & DNA Modifications in beautiful Tuscany in July 2025. @AnnaKnoer & I are thrilled to have @hackettlab as Keynote for the event! grc.org/histone-and-dn…
One of my illustrations made an appearance at the @mpi_ie #epigenetics conference! thanks to the boss @hackettlab presenting the cool science we do in the lab 🔥
We are excited to be launching a call for an independent fellow in machine learning and AI at EMBL Rome. Bring your ideas for applying ML/AI tools to understand omics, animal behavior, and/or neural activity datasets to EMBL. embl.org/jobs/position/…
📢 Preprint! Does the environment of a father before conception influence offspring? Even more, how do paternal genetics & age interact with exposures to affect F1 outcome? We tested this systematically, with intriguing findings & some cautionary tales biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
So, turns out there is another 'town square' in, ahem, town. I am at: bsky.app/profile/jamieh…
📜Our GATA story is finally out in its peer-reviewed format! We even added a double deletion of GATA-responsive enhancers in zygotes to show a direct connection between GATA TFs and Xist. Congratulations to all authors! nature.com/articles/s4155…
We’re excited to share our new preprint, headed by Liat Ravid Lustig and @AbhiSampKumar, where we identify the GATA family as tissue-specific activators of Xist, which are required for initiation of X inactivation in early embryos. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. See tweetorial below
Applications for our collaborative Rawlins lab and @LuigiAloia82 @AstraZeneca studentship will be open for 5 more days only. Don’t forget to apply…
Collaborative @Cambridge_Uni @ASTRAZENECAUK PhD studentship available for October 2025 intake. Lung organoids and cancer heterogeneity - academic and industrial mentorship - opportunity to work at both sites. Take a look: jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/48526/
📢Postdoc available! We are looking for curious minds to answer big questions using epigenome editing Join us at @EMBLRome - we offer training, supportive environment, top salary and scientific excellence. Also - sun, culture & Italian food😉 Info+apply: embl.org/jobs/position/…
Happy to share two post-doc papers co-authored with the amazing @AnaMonteagudo4 and @teresa_urli. We had amazing collaborators for both projects, even our supervisor @maxvcg joined in on the experimenting! 1: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39180406/ 2: rdcu.be/dXXqh
Last Friday we at @EMBLRome celebrated our 25th anniversary. What a joyful and emotional day (and evening!). There are many generations of love, sweat and tears that have gone into making the campus so special and it is an honour to be part of it.
It was a huge pleasure to celebrate our silver anniversary with staff, alumni and friends of EMBL Rome! We looked back with emotion at 25 years of challenges and achievements through the stories of our alumni, who are the roots of this site. Thank you for being with us!
The version for *posterity* is out @NAR_Open! Congrats to lead authors @AnaMonteagudo4 & @jrichardalbert, our friend/collaborator @DaanNoordermeer & engineer extraordinaire Margherita Scarpa! Findings largely intact, but short 🧵 on changes since preprint academic.oup.com/nar/advance-ar…
🚨New Preprint🚨 In this study, we set out to determine how the de novo DNA methylation program impacts the 3D cis regulatory landscape. Comments welcome! Here's a thread detailing our study's key findings (1/12) biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

How different diets change the gut microbiome and affect protection from or vulnerability to diseases rdcu.be/dNWyv @NatureRevMicro an outstanding review
Very stoked to go through this! Sequenced-based deep learning is rapidly picking apart the underlying logic of gene regulation biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Check out our lab's recent #preprint by Hanna Schwaemmle and our collaborators @unige_en. We asked how do cells assemble functional SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complexes? The key is to make just the right amount of each subunit! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
