The Grand Wall, Squamish Chief. Exhausting, terrifying, hard, awesome.

Promotion of @NeilDotObrien to Shadow Cabinet is long overdue. One of the sharpest thinkers around, absolutely lovely, and always thoughtful about engaging with alternative viewpoints and bits of data. Excellent excellent news. Congratulations!
🚨 Out today: The Prosperity Package written by the great @maxwell_marlow 🤝 A fair deal for taxpayers and the ultra high net worth individuals the UK needs to attract and retain 📈Commands strong support from the public - including Labour voters 👀 ukonward.com/reports/the-pr…
Meet @MrSimonDudley - he is minted. Over the last year, all his rich friends have left the UK. So, how do we get them back? Introducing the Prosperity Package 👇
Thrilled to be working with @jim_blagden again, who joins @JLPartnersPolls as an Associate Director.
We are excited to announce a new senior hire, as covered in @politico Playbook. James Blagden, formerly Associate Director of Research & Insights at @Moreincommon_ and Head of Politics and Polling at @ukonward, joins us as an Associate Director. Welcome James! @jim_blagden
Simon was born in 1964. He owns a 10 bedroom house in Berkshire valued at approx £5m. Laurence was born in 2000. He rents a one bed flat in Zone 2 for £1,900 a month and won't be able to buy a home until he's 37. Two men who grew up in two very different Britains.👇 1/3
NEW: Exclusive @JLPartnersPolls polling for GB News reveals that Brits overwhelmingly back deporting serious foreign criminals even if they're at risk of torture
Lots of ink spilt on X about whether Brits back deportations of foreign offenders even if there's a risk of serious harm. New @JLPartnersPolls data covered by @CDP1882 shows they do, by a 13:1 margin. Rare to see a result so overwhelming. gbnews.com/news/migrant-c…
Good call by the PM - and hugely admirable work by @CDP1882 with the right result here. Let justice be done.
It will never not be hilarious that green voters hate the greenest form of energy.
Nuclear energy is another area where investment is generally popular. Voters of almost all parties tend to support greater investment in nuclear energy than not - Green voters are the only exception to this.
Been reflecting recently on how the combination of AI, eroding entry level positions and labour market changes have made hiring and applying horrible for both companies and applicants. Couldn't be a better time for this innovation from @DanielKorski & co: askhunch.com
We WON! 🏆 We are delighted to announce that we won a Pollie Award last night for Best Polling in a Ballot Initiative (No to OH Issue One). It’s a testament to the amazing hard work of the whole team in 2024, in which we were one of the most accurate pollsters overall.
Actually, student dependents was @GillianKeegan and @RobertJenrick - it was merely a decision that was inherited from them, and notably opposed by the FCDO at the time of decision.
James is right. His increase in salary threshold for Skilled Workers + removal of students & carers being allowed to bring dependents is a major contributor to decline in net migration Instead of just trying to sound tough, he was a minister who got into the detail & delivered
Excellent sleuthing from @zacspiro and a frankly baffling decision from Lambeth.
This is an astonishing planning rejection in Brixton by Lambeth Council Officers rejected this application for an entirely bog-standard mansard *because* the area has "low-scale character" & would be "bulky and overly dominant" The house isn't listed or in a conservation area

Solid 🇨🇦 election analysis by my friend @guymiscampbell at @ConHome. conservativehome.com/2025/04/30/guy…
A pleasure to write in @ConHome today outlining what happened in Canada's election, what might come next, and what lessons British Conservatives might take from it. Tl;dr - Authenticity built the lead. Trump threw it away, and a Conservative Party that can't pivot won't win.
From @guymiscampbell: What lessons can British Conservatives learn from Poilievre's Portillo moment? conservativehome.com/2025/04/30/guy…
Great to welcome partners from across government, business and UK civil society today for a post-election panel. Thank you to our moderator @cgoomansingh and panellists @guymiscampbell and @InstituteGC’s Justin To for their insights.
