My dad found these conjoined chocolate chips and told me they looked like Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds. Very proud
30 years from now these White House posts will appear in textbooks as we look back at this era of American history for how genuinely atrocious and cartoonishly evil it was in hindsight. And everyone still around that supported this will have to pretend they didn't.

So the self proclaimed "most dangerous river valley in the United States" that "has floods all the time" never implemented a flood warning system, and when a well-forecast, well-warned flooding event happens they point the finger at the meteorologists?
From the AP, Kerr County did not have a warning system despite the lead county official stating “This is the most dangerous river valley in the US”. Said official also claimed “no one knew this kind of flood was coming” despite the watches and warnings.
This is like if a town got flattened by an EF5 tornado and their officials blamed the NWS for not giving adequate warning because they didn't put "EF5 tornado" in the morning forecast
Texas officials blaming the San Angelo NWS for inaccurate forecast of 12+ inches of rain was not on my bingo card 🥴
You're talking about the upper echelon of localized heavy rainfall in events like this. This is akin to tornado forecasting. You're not able to actually forecast the event rather the conditions that support it. Some of the discourse around this is incredibly dumb.
After a few months, has WeatherFront really caught on yet? Anyone here using it regularly? Is it worth buying?
The United States legislature just passed a bill that will lead to the deaths of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people all in the name of tax cuts for the wealthy and to raise the debt ceiling. Sad day
Welcome to America, where redistribution of wealth is communism unless said wealth is being redistributed from the poor and working class to billionaires and corporations.
16 million Americans will lose the health care they currently have under Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” Here’s how many will lose health care in your state if it passes:

Remember that Mike Smith is: -Pro AccuWeather -Neutral to Hitler (could’ve been worse) -Anti NWS
All of science in America being dragged back to the Stone Age because people thought Trump would lower egg prices

Destroying the research that makes us better at forecasting. You can't ask us to play piano if you cut off our hands.
There's a lot of bad news in the NOAA budget release, and yes there are going to be negotiations over the next few months. But what's baffling to me is the complete elimination of the OAR labs, especially NSSL. Like, no one in Oklahoma is going to stop that from happening?
i don’t have much to say about this that hasn’t already been said, but yeah this really, really, really sucks. Potential decades long setback if this goes through
They are literally trying to gut all of OAR. Not just part of it, All. Of. It. This field will get sent back DECADES if this goes through. This should be alarming to everyone, regardless of their political beliefs.
Hi folks. Me and 3 other chasers are stranded in Levelland, TX with a broken down car. We need to get back to Norman, OK. Can anyone help us or does anyone have any suggestions? #txwx
