I rescue stranded dolphins yearly on the Mullet Peninsula, Co. Mayo. We're crowdfunding to study their health using blow samples—but we only get donations if we hit 100%! Can you help? 🐬💙 👉 experiment.com/projects/what-… #IWDG #LiveStranding #dolphin #crowdfunding #marineconservation

Great to have Ryan and Owen's expertise over the weekend. We learnt lots.
A brilliant weekend at the Belmullet Peninsula Bioblitz exploring many excellent habitats and met many great and enthusiastic ecologists and like-minded people. I finally got to see Bombus distinguendus, which was a treat! We should have an excellent species list between us all.
Many thanks to Gemma O'connor @IWDGnews for great Whale and Dolphin watching event at Erris head during our Mullet Peninsula Bioblitz over weekend
This picture depicts a devastating scene that conservationists are seeing up and down the country this breeding season. Lots of hard work is going into protecting these birds; working with farmers, landowners, and collaboration with other conservation groups. We are now…
Some awesome images from one of our trail cameras. Corncrakes are notoriously shy birds so we are pretty sure this one was show-boating.😁 Early indications suggest an excellent year for the Irish population- great news in our last season as a project 🙏 @NPWSIreland
Lovely to see Northern colletes today on Mullet peninsula on our first day monitoring for @LIFEonMachair. A ground-nesting solitary bee, restricted to coastal habitats such as dunes and machair. Ireland holds up to 90% of the remaining populations of the bee in the Atlantic zone
Sprat. They are disappearing and we must take action now. They are a critical part of our marine ecosystem, supporting seabirds, dolphins, salmon, cod, and even the fish we eat! Pair trawling in our bays by larger boats is having an impact. The ban needs to be re-introduced.
Andrena fucata in Belmullet Co. Mayo this evening, after feeding on thyme planted by Belmullet Tidy Towns @TidyBelmullet . Many thanks last week to @KarinaEcology and Owen Beckett for help with identifying this little beauty
I will forever be haunted by this footage. Trawling has only been filmed underwater a few times in documentary history, and never with such clarity. What’s so heart-rending about these shots is watching how the animals don’t just get swept up — they swim for their lives.
🚨 EXPOSED: Unseen footage reveals the DEVASTATING impact of bottom-trawl fishing. David Attenborough’s new film #OCEAN is a call to arms to end this heartbreaking destruction of our marine protected areas. Will you heed his call? TAKE ACTION with us now👉act.for-the-ocean.org/act/protect-uk…
A talk about the whales and dolphin of Erris, Co. Mayo is on tonight in Solas, Eachleim. 7pm. Later in the evening @CorncrakeLife will have a talk & walk starting at 8pm in @ArasInisGluaire Gluaire. @CorncrakeLife @LIFEonMachair

Thrilled to win Best Series at this years International Wildlife Film Festival in the US against some heavy competition. Thanks to everyone who worked on and helped us with the series
Watch out for orange-tip butterflies, looking for their caterpillars food plant the cuckoo flower (in pics below 👇). They time their emergence perfectly with these flowers. Yet another reason to leave a patch to grow for #pollinators

Absolutely loving having the bumbógs back in the garden. Not a lot to feed on yet but they are loving the heather @GYB_Project

In 30 years, Ireland's pristine rivers dropped from 500 to just over 20 and, in 50 years, we've lost 90% of our salmon 😢🐟 Baseline Shift means we're less aware of this loss📉 Let's not accept a diminished world🛑 We must #RestoreOurWaters 💙📢 🙏sashafrost.com
The bycatch of dolphins in Spanish waters - especially off the coast of Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea - is a silent tragedy in our oceans. Our friends at Sea Shepherd France have just launched a powerful campaign to expose this cruelty. 20 dead common dolphins in one day!
What if I told you can drink one less cup of coffee and help wild dolphins that strand in Ireland? Please donate using the link below. experiment.com/projects/what-… @IWDGnews @WildlifeDisease @ucdvetmed @UCD_CHAS
A big thank you to the @BurrenbeoTrust The hares corner project which help me with a pond last year. It has tadpoles, two visiting mallards and hares from time to time.
