Neuroscientist @unimelb focused on the brain's control of energy balance & how this underlies metabolic diseases like #obesity #diabetes Views my own 🧠👨🏻🧬🍩
🚀Exciting opportunity at Gallant Bio! 🚀 We are pioneering first-in-class, brain-targeted treatments for metabolic disease and are looking for a visionary Head of Development to lead our preclinical strategy. Check the link below for more details. 👇 linkedin.com/jobs/view/4137…
🚨 Join Our Team! 🚨 We’re on the hunt for a brilliant postdoctoral researcher with a passion for neuroscience or metabolic disease. This is your chance to work at the intersection of academia & industry, driving innovation in obesity & T2D research. 🌟 jobs.unimelb.edu.au/caw/en/job/919…
For the first time, research has shown that impaired brain cells linked to body weight and hunger can be restored - opening up new treatments for obesity and type 2 diabetes. Associate Professor @garrondodd from @UniMelbMDHS explains → unimelb.me/4e9h9RB @CaitBeddows…
Obesity is driven by a build-up of molecular mesh around hunger neurons go.nature.com/4e67NpL
The importance of Arcuate nucleus extracellular matrix remodelling identified as a fundamental mechanism driving metabolic diseases, identifying neurofibrosis as a disease target #obesity #diabetes nature.com/articles/s4158…
A new finding that drives obesity and metabolic syndrome in the brain's arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus, a disorder of extracellular matrix, which could be a target of therapy in the future nature.com/articles/s4158… @Nature nature.com/articles/d4158… @NatureNV @justsaysinmice…
Excited to share our latest research published in Nature, revealing the crucial role of the brain's extracellular matrix in obesity and diabetes. nature.com/articles/s4158… Thanks to @CaitBeddows, @MrEdwardMoh, @UniMelb & our funding partners @nhmrc, @arc_gov_au and @DiabetesAus
A build-up of sticky goo that traps neurons in an appetite-control centre in the brain has been implicated in worsening diabetes and obesity go.nature.com/4d6ZyIJ
It’s EAD #ZenoTime! Stay tuned for our new neuro-peptidogenomics workflow in collaboration with @tony_purcell8 @DorvashMR @MonashUni @SCIEXnews @IonOpticks to micro-sample in vivo brain secretomes with @garrondodd @MattWattUnimelb and seed funding from @UniMelbMDHS.
.@UniMelb researchers say education about prevention and management of diabetes is the key to improving the lives of 1.8M Australians living with the disease. More 👉 go.unimelb.edu.au/mc4e #WorldDiabetesDay #DiabetesAwareness @garrondodd @ericaf_unimelb @MattWattUnimelb
Excited to share our data on the divergent and common signaling events between different types of exercise in human muscle. We focused on common events since these likely underlie exercise benefits, and show that S67 on C18ORF25 is an AMPK substrate that promotes muscle function.
New! Phosphoproteomics of three exercise modalities identifies canonical signaling and C18ORF25 as an AMPK substrate regulating skeletal muscle function dlvr.it/SVTKlX
So excited to have received funding by the @arc_gov_au to discover new brain circuits regulating hunger and whole-body metabolism @UniMelbMDHS @UniMelb .
