En ting er at Borten Moe tydeligvis driter i habilitet, men var det ingen av de andre statsrådene som sa «Eier ikke du et oljeselskap, Ola? Hva faen gjør du her nå?»
So I knew I could too. This being said, PhD as a process does make one likely know a lot, a great deal, about something. But knowing a lot is not the same as being competent, fast thinking, intellectually interesting, kind, etc. It helps, but it's by no means the whole story. 3/3
Nothing about a PhD makes you automatically smart. 10 years ago when I was finishing my PhD, what kept me going was that I saw some of the absolute most dumbass/abusive humans — failures floating upwards, weaponised incompetence out the wazoo — getting PhDs no problem. 2/3
I keep hearing this logic, so I want to dispel it: nothing about getting a PhD makes one smart. A non-negligible number of people I know have PhDs, and I don't trust their judgement/intellect on anything remotely to do with work or daily life. 1/3

"What do you mean TransAtlantic? Why are you trying to trans an ocean?"
In the U.K., standing up for trans rights now comes with serious professional consequences. I was shocked by the ferocity of the establishment backlash. I don't know that my career will ever fully recover from the basic choice not to betray my trans friends and colleagues. >
Transphobia is boring, cowardly and regressive. Anti-trans activism is not and never will be feminist. Attacking trans people has nothing to do with protecting women's rights. Those who pretend it does are either deluded or trying to justify their own ugly, hateful sadism.
Watch & learn from the ponzi schemers folks. Remember pharma boy convicted for being one of the worst humans on the planet? Refresh your memory here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Sh… He's on twitter with the account @wagieeacc. He learned the word "transformer" & now "makes software."
Sunak's family firm Infosys also signed a deal reported to be worth $1.5billion with BP just two months ago.
Sam Altman tells me he is worried that "bad actors" could try to use AI for world control and "full enslavement of everyone else" Meanwhile, his project Worldcoin is creating a database of all humans by asking you to scan your eyeballs in exchange for his proprietary money

Week 258. The UK gov & Norwegian state-owned oil giant @Equinor want to build the massive Rosebank oil field. It would produce more CO2 than the 28 lowest income countries do in a year, burning us past climate targets and do nothing to lower energy bills. #StopRosebank @stopcambo
Lord I loathe this type of post. Vapid, sentimental, with such a limited and tedious understanding of history, art, culture, and sampling bias. My excuse is that I’m not a 17th century sculptor, fucko. Similarly, Michelangelo was hopeless at in situ hybridisation.

Good to see the EU Ombudsman will launch an investigation into the role of EU border agency Frontex in last month's shipwreck that killed some 650 people. politico.eu/newsletter/bru… But the ultimate problem is higher up - the EU's “let them die” policy: hrw.org/the-day-in-hum…
