I've felt for a while that a mainstream method, reverse engineering, in cognitive science & AI is incompatible with computationalism‼️ So I wrote "Modern Alchemy: Neurocognitive Reverse Engineering" with the wonderful Natalia S. & @IrisVanRooij to elaborate (link below). 1/n

“If you believe that requiring consent prior to AI use would only benefit Disney, I ask that you rethink your views & listen to the chorus of artists who have led this fight over the past few years. Please don’t ignore their voices while thinking you’re helping them.”
In a new blog, Neil Turkewitz asks the question, “Who gains, and who loses, when we allow #AI models to be trained on creative works without consent?” Read more here: bit.ly/3TW4UPS
The Nazis kicked Dutch Jews out of their own homeland. The least you can do now is bring their descendants back home. Makes more sense than your outlandish proposition !!
Why dont you offer 'israel' a state in Gelderland? The Netherlands had a big part to play in the holocaust. You should pay the price, not the Palestinians.
I've just signed this petition for the UK to proscribe the IOF. Will you add your name and share too? you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/yvet…
At least by now everyone knows there is no such thing as human-level artificial intelligence (AI) nor superintelligence in the context of current machine learning (ML) especially language and image generator models. All that these AI companies are doing is selling products.
The claims also contain incorrect causal directionality with the thinking and system I/II claims. The map is not the territory, there is a difference between a representation of something and the thing it represents. link.springer.com/content/pdf/10…
The TLDR claims the approach can solve ‘any’ general problem. Can you please explain how it could solve intractable (exponential time complexity) general learning problems per the linked perfect vs chance proof in less than exp time, or refine the claims? link.springer.com/content/pdf/10…
it's not too late. maybe in america where they have all but given up. here we fight! my idea is to get the smartphone-vrij movement to start paying attention to AI, they are big and well organized

“Even the term 'Artificial Intelligence' is widely misused, with conceptual unclarity coopted to advance industry agendas & undermine scholarly discussions. It's our task to demystify and challenge 'AI' in our teaching, research & engagement with society.”

I'm sorry, but if you need an AI reading assistant to find out what a paper is about, you're in the wrong job and shouldn't be reading academic papers to begin with.
You can ask the reading assistant what the text is about. You can also ask it to recommen related topics and show you related papers. Very helpful feature for literature review.
