In biomedical sciences, there is a gap in understanding how sociodemographic factors affect biological and behavioral processes, in part due to inconsistent data collection. To address this, we're surveying researchers about their sociodemographic questionnaires: ⬇️
It’s been an immense privilege to serve as Chair of the Organization Human Brain Mapping @OHBM this past year. As OHBM 2025 wraps up in Brisbane, I’m sharing a few reflections on the Society’s evolution over the past 30 years. neurospeed-bailletlab.org/news/closingof…
🎉 Congratulations to our 2025 #OHBM Awardees! Your work continues to inspire the brain mapping community and advance the field. We’re proud to celebrate your achievements at this year’s Annual Meeting! 👏🧠 #OHBM2025
Benchmarking methods for mapping functional connectivity in the brain | doi.org/10.1038/s41592… What is the best FC metric? led by @liuzhenqi0303 in @naturemethods ⤵️
Check our latest preprint! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We present the first population-specific brain charts for China, developed through the Chinese Lifespan Brain Mapping Consortium (Phase I) using high-quality MRI data from 43,037 participants (aged 0-100 years,384 sites). (1/6)
Not sure which measure of network coupling to use in your fMRI analysis? Peep our latest PP led by K Pavlovich with @jchrispang comparing 10 different FC (+1 DCM) metrics in terms of robustness to motion and sensitivity to brain-behaviour correlations: tinyurl.com/yc3x68yv
‼️NEW PREPRINT‼️ What if you could take a normal 3T T1-weighted scan and make it look like it was acquired from a 7T scanner? We use AI on 172 paired 3T and 7T scans to improve sharpness and contrast of 3T images Link: arxiv.org/abs/2507.13782 Check out the thread! 👇👇 1/

1/11 Excited to share our @Naturestudy led by @Leon_Oo1 @csabaorban @ZShaoshi doi.org/10.1038/s41586… It is well-known that AI performance scales with logarithm of sample size (Kaplan, McCandlish 2020), but in many domains, sample size can be # participants or # measurements...

I was pretty skeptical that this study was worth running, because I thought that *obviously* we would see significant speedup. x.com/METR_Evals/sta…
We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.
Pay attention to what the people closest to AI are saying: It’s advancing more rapidly than the vast majority of people realize It’s likely we won't know how and how much AI will change the way we live, work and play until it already has axios.com/2025/07/09/ai-…
I am happy to share that I’ve been awarded tenure here at Columbia University. Alhamdulillah. I thank my wife, parents, mentors, colleagues, friends, & family. I thank my lab members, present and past, for entrusting their careers in my hands and making this a thrilling journey.
Grateful for the #OHBM2025 exhibitors who have travelled all the way down to the southern hemisphere to make sure they meet our community. @OHBM
🔥🔥2025 Talairach Lecture "Worldwide Collaboration & AI in the Global Quest to Map Human Brain Diseases" 🧠 Massive thanks to all whose work I highlighted, who made this possible 🔥🔥YouTube link + Slides PDF in comments Thanks for letting me show 151 slides in half an hour :)🤯…
(1/10) How do brain networks and cognition co-evolve as children enter adolescence? While valuable, cross-sectional studies offer only a single snapshot of brain–cognition relationships, missing the dynamic changes that longitudinal designs can reveal. We hypothesize that…
