ICE detain U.S. citizen outside grocery store—beat him with baton, shove his head into the ground & give him a concussion. "I told them where I was born, I had an ID, a social, a birth certificate," he said. "They didn't' care about none of that." Now in the hospital after his…
Parents in the US pay an average of $11,582 per year for child care for children under the age of 15. Private equity sees an opportunity, by racing to consolidate independent daycares. Watch more on "Wall Street Week" at 6 p.m. ET bloom.bg/4o8f6Th

Childcare doesn't just support families – it bolsters our entire economy. Ensuring parents can access quality, affordable care for their children should be everybody's business. @ehaspel @beckgale @NewAmerica theguardian.com/us-news/2025/j…
Last week, I was part of a fascinating conversation bringing together a diverse group of voices to tackle questions of family formation, birth rates, & human flourishing. It convinced me we need more of those types of spaces! Check out a summary here: capita.org/what-we-are-mi…

I know twitter hates S*bstack, but my pieces there are were I focus, not on this thing, and would be flattered if you read my latest, which is about my seven days on Greyhounds and the people I met, like Jerry below, and it's not pay-walled (link in next tweet)
I wrote about population growth vs. economic growth, and where AI falls in all that
👀In the name of “protecting vulnerable Americans” the Trump Administration will rip away Medicaid coverage from babies and toddlers👀 CMS announces Medicaid demos that 8 states are implementing to cover babies and young children continuously w/o gaps will no longer be allowed
Childcare is a hellscape in this country. WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT?, ask @Beckgale and @ehaspel via @guardian. How did we get here and what needs to change for things to move forward in a different - and better - direction. theguardian.com/us-news/2025/j…
