First week of Innovative School Year is a wrap! So much learning and growing in the first four days. We even had a chance to show @MCPS Superintendent @ThomasTaylorEdD all of the fantastic things that make Arcola so special.
We are so excited to host @MCPS_SummerRISE students as well as students who are earning their SSL hours. Today they helped organize lunch cards, count out & distribute math materials, build wellness kits, and distribute snacks! We ❤️ our interns & volunteers.

Today was a great Arcola transition day! New students had a day to acclimate to a new school. In the afternoon we had open house for all other students. We are ready to welcome EVERYONE tomorrow for the first official day of school.
Today was the first day for one of our @MCPS_SummerRISE interns! She was a joy to be with and was so excited to help our staff prepare for our first week of school next week.
Congratulations to our adult English class who celebrated the completion of their course this year. They continue to learn and grow. As a result, they have become increasingly engaged at Arcola. 🎉🎉🎉
The residents of Bedford Court retirement home enjoyed the music of our Golden Bars ensemble. Shout out to Mr. Cooper for teaching these talented students and sparking their musical talents.
There may be no school today but we still hosted parent coffee to discuss with families the enrichment opportunities available for students at Arcola ES. Writing, math, art, music and more to meet the needs of the whole student.
Good Morning, Arcola was in a medical response shelter. Parent of student arrived and transported with student who is responsive. Day is resuming.
We hosted our 3rd annual Arcola 365 Summit today. Mr Anderson and Ms Torres from MSDE were our guest speakers followed by summaries of the work by different committees that happened this year. We ended by sharing ideas to earn 5 stars on the MD report card. Go team Arcola!!

It was a full house at our Mother’s Day and parent volunteer brunch. They brought delicious food, organized games, and sang songs! We ❤️ community!
