I was 10 when they were murdered & will I never forget the feeling of hearing their deaths on the news. Their deaths came after GFA also impacted many of us who were children then & forshadowed the deaths of so many of our generation that was to come💔 This was never peace.
In the early hours of the 12th of July 1998, as much of Northern Ireland braced for another volatile Twelfth Night, a firebomb tore through a quiet home in Carnany estate in Ballymoney. Inside, three brothers Richard (11), Mark (9), and Jason (8) Quinn were sleeping. Moments…
Hahahaha are ye, aye? 🤣
For the first time, I’ve set out the plan for leaving the ECHR. To secure our borders, protect our veterans and restore sovereignty, we must rewrite the Belfast Agreement Pleased to have cross-party support for these proposals. The time to leave is now. Watch the film here 👇
Scotland is there just behind the clouds and that is where I will think of Peter 💜
While certain sections would like to distract the narrative by lamenting about the actions of the IRA 105 years ago...the UVF is asking the government for personal protection weapons to stop paramilitary activity and continue with normal criminal activities....
Government negotiators have dismissed UVF demands for senior members to be issued with personal protection weapons. ➡️belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…
The 1st Oversight Commissioner assigned to implement overhaul of policing structures in NI was Tom Constantine - head of the DEA appointed in 1994 by Bill Clinton & retiring in 1999 just prior to being appointed to NI. The corruption runs deep & under the cover of a "drug war"
PSNI oversight body is ‘being run by a former RUC/PSNI officer’ says ‘concerned’ Nuala O’Loan irishnews.com/news/northern-…
Moore turning his Twitter rants into video form and getting on like he is presenting a documentary is hilarious 🤣🤣
Chemsex is a rising phenomenon across Europe, including Ireland ,but what exactly is it, and how can people stay safe while engaging in it? #ChemSex #HarmReduction natalieoregan.substack.com/p/inside-chems…
While lot of people on here seemingly unaware that 16 year olds are also impacted by governments and government policy.
Again...wild things to be tweeting out less that a week after the Twelfth.
I thought the GFA meant we had to forget all that stuff? A fresh start? Or was that just for republican terrorism?
Bold statement to make less than a week after loyalist paramilitaries told us they would wreak the place if the police moved in on the bonfire and got away with it.
The elephant in the room is the GAA and its continuous glorification of the IRA. This is not about children and sports. it's about what the IRA inflicted on the Unionist people for decades. This talk of cross-community has to be a two-way street where everyone is respected.
The parents of these kids are most likely those who were kids when the Good Friday Agreement was signed but sure don't let that get in the way of Doug's discrimination.
“children are not responsible for the actions of their parents” These kids should not be held accountable for failure of GAA to address issues of concern. Allowing kids of all religions & backgrounds to play together is what builds tolerance & understanding. That’s my unionism
Simple question with a big impact 👇
New idea for a campaign to find out what we can do to make life easier for service providers. It's called "Your 3 wishes" we are asking if you had 3 wishes to improve services, what would they be? Get sharing, get asking! #your3wishes
Sectarian fraternity has "significant concerns' over children" who play sports.... Grown men who have spent the weekend marching in places they are not wanted are claiming they are concerned the GAA want to move into Comber....every accusation is a confession and all that...
Sports summer camp cancelled as Orange lodge raises ‘significant concerns’ over children from GAA club irishnews.com/news/northern-…
This is a dog whistle to racists. Disgrace of a man. Happy to pump money into genocide and wars and then turn around and scapegoat immigrants for his decision not to prioritise public services. Sowing division to maintain power.
British people have every right to ask why their money is spent on asylum hotels instead of public services. That's why I agreed a groundbreaking pilot with France. For the first time, people who try to make the crossing illegally will find themselves back where they started.
🧵1/ In Ireland, we used to see the land as a body. A living, breathing form. Every hill, every curve, every place—part of us. But colonisation didn’t just take the land. It took the meaning. It took the names. Let me show you what we’ve lost👇
"It's not sectarian, it was just an empty building" "It's not racism, it was just a piece of art" "It's not about asbestos and an electrical substation, it's about our culture" The excuses are exhausting!
Members of a loyalist band have been filmed breaking into a rendition of The Sash just yards from the office of a Sinn Féin MLA in north Belfast. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/…
So Irish language signs = too political and bullets for the republican movement BUT Irish language signs, effigies, flags and boats on bonfires built but loyalist paramilitaries = culture and not political at all.
