People with HIV CAN BE SURGEONS! The info on @GMB is appallingly inaccurate & outdated. Doctors in the media have a duty to not propagate myths so please issue a correction @DrHilaryJones - @NAT_AIDS_Trust @BritishHIVAssoc & @PHE_uk will be very happy to assist you I am sure!

Surgeons living with #HIV can work safely. @PHE_UK guidance on healthcare workers and HIV clearly states this. #ItsASin showed us the results of HIV stigma. We're disappointed to see @DrHilaryJones perpetuate it on @GMB. Let's stay educated so #HIV never stands in the way.

Hi @UNAIDS - might I suggest, in line with your own excellent terminology guidance, you amend your 2024 fact sheet from "newly infected" to "newly diagnosed"? Replace "become infected" with "been diagnosed"? Please. Or 1.3 million new infections? Language matters. Thank you 🙂

It takes HCWs with HIV THREE TIMES LONGER to achieve occupational health clearance than their counterparts with HBV and that can risk job offer withdrawal. This is not logical, it;s not evidence-based and it needs to change please @FOMNews #BHIVA24

#BHIVA24 kicks off with a session on Occupational Health. If new to EPP BBV screening mandatory. If already doing EPP AND changing jobs it's mandatory if you started role post 2007 but optional if pre-2007. Not sure I get the logic of that?!
