Have decided to roll-back my twitter engagement- will still be here via DM and like + retweet but am planning on avoiding creating my own content until I process my thoughts on the state of this app + the non-voluntary AI training. In the meantime, I will be fully active @ Bsky

Super interesting – and now supported by evidence from a randomized trial Blue: each day's chemo-immunotherapy was started and completed before 3 pm Red: each day's therapy was started and completed after 3 pm Those who received treatment early in the day had better survival
Circadian biology may be the next frontier in cancer care. Patients with lung cancer who got chemo-immunotherapy before 11:30 AM had: 📉 53% lower risk of death 📆 Median overall survival: 33 vs. 19.5 months 📈 Improved treatment response Let’s break it down 🧵1/7
I’ve been fascinated by the responses to this. What SHOULD we expect “the” replication rate to be? It’s not at all a trivial question, and I don’t find it likely to be anywhere near 95%.
I've been thinking a lot about this question. Many people claim that ~50% replication rates represent a "crisis" but I've never seen that judgment justified (or even explained). What should the rate be? Why should be expect that rate? Why SHOULDN'T it be 50%

Did anyone proofread this?? These professors have PhDs. How insulting to read "Mr." and, especially, "Ms." in an article describing loss of funding for career-defining public health work. That's DR. Kar-Hai Chu, DR. Erika E. Forbes, & DR. Jennifer Silk. Fix it.
If you see the Greek letter ξ, you’re in for a bad time
I know there's a lot to feel upset about, but this is terrifying, disgusting, chilling, unacceptable, etc etc etc - we *cannot* tolerate this kind of treatment of people in our communities. Clearly aimed at terrifying and punishing, which will cause immense damage for all.
Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk was detained by ICE. A video shared with GBH News shows a man in a hoodie approach her, then grab her wrists. Ozturk screams, then asks “Can I call the police?” before being told “We’re the police.” wgbh.org/news/local/202… @sweetadelinevt @GBHNews

Wondering about #OpenScience Practices for #Qualitative Research? In our new paper, we showcase the use of audit trails to transparently document the full qualitative analysis procedure. Audit trails are equivalent to sharing code in #quant research: bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
Omg Adam Grant did you read the paper
Generosity is an anti-depressant. Depressed people were randomly assigned to give less than a penny a day to charity. Over the next 2 months, moods improved and depression declined. The more they gave, the better they felt. Even small acts of kindness elevate mental health.
BACK TO PEN AND PAPER Y'ALL. chatbots now filling out qualtrics surveys (effortlessly)
OpenAI has launched Operator, an agent that can perform tasks in your browser. I asked it to complete a Qualtrics survey I created. The results are very promising for Operator but *very* concerning for survey researchers
