Wanted to come back to this. Is he thinking about how this could have been him, Diane, and Beth? That he could have grown old with his wife and watched his daughter grow up and achieve milestones? Carefree and loving? Yearning?

i see people complaining about Rick "mellowing down" and that's an absolutely fair sentiment but personally if he didn't had any real character grow in those 8 seasons it would just be boring. he'd a flat, one dimensional character that's just running on the same 3 lines

and if i suddenly became a pro at animating and made my own rick and morty episode what then
