Came across this from earlier this year about election timings. Currently, it appears that we are heading towards the Local Elections and Assembly Elections, which are scheduled to be held on the same day in May 2027. Last time this happened was 2011.

This will literally have to be a carbon copy of the McAleese 1997 campaign. McAleese went in behind and not nearly as well known as the others. Can Heenan do the same? Remains to be seen.

There was enough understanding for a Northerner to run for Fianna Fáil and then win the presidency in 1997.

Update on the site containing asbestos: I’m told by the owners that the asbestos removal has been delayed because the large site gates have been stolen and efforts are now being made to fully secure the site before the contractor is permitted to enter and remove the asbestos.
