UK Consul General to New England, based in Boston. Previous postings in Egypt, Libya and New York (UN). Lover of history, innovation and running.
Absolutely delighted to announce that I’ll be moving to Boston next month to take over as British Consul General to New England. Thank you @FCDOPeterAbbott for all the incredible work you have done in the role over the last four years.

Last day of holiday in NH, VT and ME. You might be forgiven for taking what a diplomat says about their host country with a pinch of salt, but New England is truly one of the most beautiful corners of the planet. Can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be posted.

Perfect summer evening in Burlington VT watching @VTLakeMonsters with the kids.

On this day in 1976, Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Old North Church in celebration of the Bicentennial. In a speech at the Old State House during her visit to Boston, the Queen said:
A real pleasure to meet @MassLtGov yesterday at the State House. UK and MA have a great relationship (UK is no1 foreign investor in the state) - lots of opportunities to strengthen it further.
Massachusetts and the UK have a strong partnership and even stronger friendship! Great meeting with @dave_clay on ways we can work together for the benefit of all our families and businesses! 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Learnt today that the first official UK celebration of US Independence Day took place on 4 July 1918. The Stars and Stripes flew above Parliament and Westminster Abbey and King George V joined thousands of spectators to watch an Army-Navy baseball game at Stamford Bridge. 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Welcome to London, Ambassador. The 🇬🇧 and 🇺🇸 are indispensable allies and we are working side-by-side to deliver security and prosperity for our people on both sides of the Atlantic. Looking forward to our partnership, @USAmbUK.
UK Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy hosted me for an all-encompassing conversation regarding the special relationship between the U.S. and the U.K. Our countries are committed to work together on all fronts as we confront the world’s most pressing challenges. Thanks, again, for…
Took the kids to visit the magnificently bonkers Ponyhenge near Lincoln MA this morning. One of the little guys came with a story. Godspeed Wonder-Horse

“Harvard’s Magna Carta deserves celebration, not as some mere copy, stained and faded, but as an original of one of the most significant documents in world constitutional history, a corner stone of freedoms past, present and yet to be won.” - Professor David Carpenter.
This has made my morning. What a wonderful discovery at Harvard Law School.
Researchers from @KingsCollegeLon and @UniOfEastAnglia have discovered that a “copy” of Magna Carta owned by Harvard Law School is in fact a vanishingly rare original from 1300. hls.harvard.edu/today/harvard-…
80 years ago, World War II ended in Europe. Today aboard @USSConstitution, we stood with our 🇨🇦, 🇫🇷, 🇩🇪, and 🇺🇸 partners to mark 80 years since VE Day. Together we honour those who defeated tyranny and continue to stand shoulder to shoulder in common purpose. #VEDay80
It was an honour to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day on board @USSConstitution today. The ceremony was a moment to remember all those who fought for our freedom in WW2. My grandfather George Bennett - who served in the Royal Navy during the war - was in my thoughts.

From old London to new! Wonderful discussions yesterday with the New London legislative delegation - Deputy Speaker @RepNolanCT39th, Rep. Gaiewski, and Mayor @NLMayorMikeP - on strengthening the UK-CT partnership.

In 1775, this would’ve been a tense standoff. In 2025, it’s all smiles! 📸 Great to see @MassGovernor in Concord today! #MA250
The British are leaving! The British are leaving! (Don’t worry, he’ll be back in Boston by lunch.) 🇬🇧 #MA250
