As the report into discrimination within English cricket has been published, here is a thread of pertinent posts I've written over the years on the subject:
What would be the downside to dropping this entire England team and playing with 11 uncapped players for the last two games of this series against India? The worst they could do is lose every match by a landslide, but the veterans are already doing that.
Is Joe Root better than every Australian batter in the history of cricket? Well it's hard to compare cricketers across generations, playing in different conditions and against different teams. But the answer is clearly yes.

I agree with the quote, but from the other direction. The punishment for slow over rates should be much stricter.

Obviously a lot of stones being thrown from glass houses here, but Ben Stokes is in danger of becoming unlikeable if he continues mimicking Australia in considering himself the arbiter of the moral "line" and moaning about being punished for poor over rates.
India captain @ShubmanGill has accused England of acting contrary to the "spirit of cricket”. But @benstokes38 says @englandcricket at no stage went “over the line” at Lord’s. Hear from them both in a TMS Podcast special. #bbccricket #ENGvIND bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0l…
England's ODI loss today, with a poor performance both bowling and fielding, is their last game before the ODI World Cup in October. It feels like they wasted this summer, not trying anyone or anything new after their embarrassing Ashes performance, and haven't progressed at all

I’m sick of the shit and hassle I get for the content I post on here. Content that I create in my own time - precious free time from my paid job. I get abuse, sexism, misogyny and accusations I post for reach only. Simple solution to that, I wont post any stats content from now.
If this rate of increase continues, Day 5 will be 147 overs short.
15 overs short. Never mind @OutsideCricket . Punters don't care.
35 minutes left, 23 overs left to play. I suspect we're going to come in short today...
It definitely feels like this is the game where someone gets ruled out of the Ashes through injury. India can bat long, and all of the fast bowlers seem to have fitness question marks over them...
England have named their team for the 3rd Test. Jofra Archer is back after four years, for Josh Tongue in the only change. Crawley, Duckett, Pope, Root, Brook, Stokes, Smith, Woakes, Carse, Archer, Bashir
In terms of the World Test Championship, it might benefit India to bat out another 12 overs as it pushes the innings over 80 overs and England are more likely to be punished for a slow over rate.
The umpires should have denied the DRS appeal there for being too late...
Some good news for Stokes, as he doesn't currently have any suspended disciplinary points because he's fairly certain to get a least a level 1 charge for dissent there. Maybe level 2...
Did Yashasvi Jaiswal run out of time before reviewing? 🤔 Despite the review, England have their first wicket 🏴
Smart from Siraj, waiting until England avoid the follow-on to take the final wickets and ensuring he gets a rest.
If there was a transparent process and accountability, surely they would have fired their batting coaches ages ago?
Mark Ramprakash has resigned as a consultant coach at Middlesex, citing an "absence of transparent process and accountability" | ✍️ @GeorgeDobell1 thecricketer.com/Topics/county-…
Just a tip for people around the England men's team if they want to reduce fan's stress about Archer coming back: Maybe avoid terms like "hitting the ground" or "throwing" the injury prone player...

Uh oh, someone at Wisden forgotten what account they're logged into? 👀
It's very difficult to explain why a Saudi T20 league, which could afford to pay players more than The Hundred or counties, is any more harmful to English cricket than the IPL beyond the fact that India could pull their lucrative tours here if upset.
It's always kind of funny when organisations which have spent decades chasing money suddenly find a line they won't cross. "This source of money would harm the sport, not like the people we've sold out to..."
