🥄 “Compostable” forks. ☕️ “Plant-based” cups. ♻️ “Bioplastic” wrappers. They sound green – but most don’t break down. 🗑️ Many go straight to landfills or incinerators. ✅ The fix? Reuse > greenwash. #PlasticFreeJuly
How do we move beyond single-use plastics? Join our free @RDisposable webinar on July 30 or 31 to hear how real people are making reuse work in their communities. RSVP: cleanwater.org/rethink-webina… #PlasticFreeJuly #ReThinkDisposable

Real math says chemical recycling gives you ~10% recycled content. But brands use tricks to claim more — because “green” sells. Consumers will pay more for “sustainable” products, even if it’s a stretch. @grist #EcoFraud #PlasticPollution buff.ly/QNcAtvZ

♻️ Less than 9% of plastic has ever been recycled. 🛑 The real fix? Reduce how much plastic gets made in the first place. ✅ Support bottle bills, packaging reduction laws & reuse systems. #PlasticFreeJuly #RecyclingMyth
The PERMIT Act — also known as the "Permission to Pollute" Act — would open the door to pollution, weaken environmental oversight, and put communities, wildlife, and drinking water at risk. Julie MacNamara breaks down why this package is so dangerous 👉 youtube.com/shorts/LLP2CrF…

The budget bill may have passed, but there's still more we can do: The PERMIT Act has so many giveaways to polluters we're calling it the "Permission to Pollute" Act. It guts the Clean Water Act, weakens pollution safeguards, and puts our water AND our health at risk.
That headline about glass bottles having more microplastics than plastic ones? It wasn’t the glass – it was the caps. Plastic-based seals and paints in the caps can shed particles. Glass itself is still safe. Meanwhile, plastic bottles? Up to 240,000 plastic particles per liter.
Plastic pollutes. From the extraction of fossil fuels to polluting manufacturing processes to litter and microplastics to final disposal - they are a disaster for our drinking water at every step. This #PlasticFreeJuly, say NO to single-use plastic. #ReThinkDisposable

Trump’s Big, Beautiful-for-Billionaires Bill is one massively destructive piece of legislation.
Plastics pollute. Downstream neighbors of these plastics manufacturing facilities are facing drinking water contaminated with toxic 1,4-dioxane. insideclimatenews.org/news/29062025/…
