Eric Adams ripping out the Bedford Avenue bike lane and canceling the 34th Street Busway

Thanks to the inaction of @NYCMayor Adams, our streets are so deadly that there are two different vigils today for New Yorkers who were killed by cars. Right now we're in Sunset Park, where two people were mowed down and killed by a speeding driver on Third Avenue.
‼️ New Data from Transportation Alternatives & @NYC_SafeStreets Shows Vision Zero Works, Should Be Expanded; Congestion Pricing Has Made Streets Safer. In the first half of 2025, there were 90 fatalities in NYC — a difference of 19 more lives saved than the Vision Zero average:
Went on the news to talk about the deadly crash in Chinatown:
We've been fighting to fix Canal Street for seven years, but City Hall has sat on its hands. Now two more New Yorkers are dead from a deadly crash. These deaths are avoidable. Canal Street must be redesigned now to save lives. We went on @PIX11News to talk about it:
Two people were killed at Canal and Bowery in a crash on Saturday. Then, “Almost 24 hours later, a second violent crash occurred at the same Manhattan intersection. Police said a driver came careening into a food truck and TD Bank around 3 a.m. Sunday morning.”
There was once a ghost bike at this exact location. But it kept being destroyed by cars. We replaced it more times than any other ghost bike in the city before giving up. nbcnewyork.com/news/local/cyc…
Lmao the AI reply guy / unregistered super PAC twitter bot is so dumb that it’s just making things up, claiming that Zohran would “defund traffic enforcement” and “gut Vision Zero.” This is what some guy is spending thousands of dollars a month on? 🤡
Eric Adams cut traffic deaths to a 115-year low—32% drop in fatalities, 48% fewer motorists killed. NYPD seized 20,000 illegal guns, homicides down 23%. Mamdani? He’d defund traffic enforcement, gut Vision Zero, and let chaos reign. Adams installed 87.5 miles of protected bike…
Eric Adams is trying to make riding a bike at 16 mph a criminal offense. @NYCMayor is stalling and even reversing street safety projects. He doesn’t care that drivers are killing people.

Tweeting is free. Unless you’re paying an AI to do it, in which case apparently it costs $9-10k per month. This is political spending, like any other. It’s meant to influence NYC’s election — effectively an un-registered super PAC. Seems like the CFB or BOE should look into it!
New: That new anti-Zohran Mamdani reply bot, @CityDeskNYC, is run by the same 24-year-old behind @dogeai_gov. The developer tells me he hopes to sell the new bot to one of Mamdani's mayoral foes: Eric Adams, Andrew Cuomo or Curtis Sliwa. courthousenews.com/zohran-mamdani…
Both sides of the e-bike debate say they want safety. But only one side wants to address the root cause of the issue: regulating the exploitative Silicon Valley delivery app companies that force workers to bike too fast or risk losing their livelihood.
Regulating the Silicon Valley delivery apps that profit from NYC streets is a win-win: protecting deliveristas from workplace exploitation, and making our streets safer for everyone. Without the threat of unjust firing, delivery workers won't be forced to go at unsafe speeds.
New Yorkers want fast buses. Here’s how we get there:
New York City’s buses are the slowest in the nation — but they don’t have to be. With a few low-cost changes, we could not only improve this dismal ranking, but also have buses that are downright fast. All it will take is a few big ideas…
Deadly corridor in Sunset Park, Mayor Adams put safety improvements on ice for years, now 2 more people were killed there this morning
NEW: Statement from Transportation Alternatives after Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Two Men on Sunset Park Street Where Mayor Adams Halted Safety Improvements
The NYC-DSA office is full, vibrant, thriving. Next door, the former Sovereign House space is empty, void, a failure. Socialism wins
