Sunscreen technology in the US is far behind the rest of the world. The last approved molecule was in 1999. Did you know that computers can help us design new sunscreen molecules that are safer and more effective? Check here how: link.springer.com/article/10.100…
Our collaboration with @WillPPK on NOX5 is out. We captured NOX5 in different activation states, and used MD simulation to explore the initiation of electron transfer. An unexpected Zn finger was also identified that is critical for function. nature.com/articles/s4146…
My lab is recruiting a postdoc to work on biochemistry, structure and function of plant🌱respiratory complexes and supercomplexes! Come join us at UC Davis! Learn more about the lab here: letts.faculty.ucdavis.edu Apply for the job here: recruit.ucdavis.edu/JPF06484
It’s nice to see it finally in print. Wonderful job everyone.
Take a look at @Nature latest issue (629) between pages 228-234 and have a surprise.
In memory of our much missed colleague Jim Howe - a symposium this Thursday in 100 College (Room 180) with former collaborators and coworkers speaking.
Cool story Greg.

It was fun to see what everyone has been up to - lots of great progress!

Tech opening in our lab at Princeton! Mosquitoes, behavior, genomics, neuroscience, evolution. Great for someone with college research experience exploring interests for future directions. For more info: tinyurl.com/McBrideLabResT… Please RT.
In a new @Nature study, YSM researchers help explain how #insect taste #receptors differentiate between different kinds of #sugar. A team in the @butterwicklab says their results could help develop #biosensors or new strategies vs. #insect-borne #diseases: brnw.ch/21wHPTV
Great story about fantastic work just out in @Nature from the Butterwick lab here in Pharmacology. The sweet stuff: How insects tell sugars apart news.yale.edu/2024/03/06/swe…
Yale News published a very nice piece about the first paper from the @butterwicklab now in @Nature, check it out! Big thanks to @MalloryLocklear for the opportunity to talk about our work. @Yale @CAPES_Oficial news.yale.edu/2024/03/06/swe…
Thank you @masha_niv - and thank you for organizing the exciting session at @ISOT2024Iceland ! @jvic_gomes and Joel will both be there. Looking forward to it!
Thank you @BejaLab. Congratulations @butterwicklab. FYI, Joel will speak at our structural symposium at @ISOT2024Iceland

Thank you Anita! Hopefully future structural studies will help show why some GRs have off responses while others don't. Neat mystery.
Exciting new work from the Butterwick lab on how chemoreceptor tuning actually works at the molecular level 👇
