Paraphrase of Athanasius: God cannot begin to speak, else He would once have been mute. A God who speaks must have an eternal Word. Which is also to say: Silence is not the baseline being of God. To enter into God is to eavesdrop, also to join, an eternal act of communication.
As of this month, I've been on staff at @_Theopolis for a decade. That's over a quarter of my life. It's been one of the greatest honors and joys the Lord has given me. I hope to write a brief reflection on the past decade in the next month or so.
