Another example. Nothing else brought top level international sport to Swindon like the Abbey Stadium and @SwindonSpeedway did. Why has this been allowed to be thrown away for individual financial gain?

OTD in 1974 Martin Ashby captains England in the first test match against the USSR @ The Abbey. Martin top scores with 17 points, missing out on a maximum when losing to Vladimir Gordeev in heat 10. England won the meeting 66-41 to take a 3-0 lead in the series.

So disheartening to see. No combined cross-party focus on finding the best solutions for #Swindon. Just petty point scoring and finger pointing on both sides. As a town, it' hard to see how this bunch of Cllrs (of both codes) take us forward when they are so inward facing.
