Blockbuster was rubbish. The local video store had copies of foreign movies, movies that had been on TV once in 1977, Blaxploitation, stuff PBS gave away in pledge drives, adult section obscured by beads, etc. Blockbuster had 800 copies of Independence Day 🙄

One of the reasons I still enjoy having cable TV is every now and then you’ll turn on the TV and the exact same show is on at the exact same point as when you were last watching and for a minute it’s like you can travel through time
