The clerk of the House just read in a letter from Speaker @RepMattHall to remove House Approps Minority Vice Chair Alabas Farhat from his position.

State Rep. Alabas Farhat, D-Dearborn, was just removed as minority vice chair of House Approps. The removal came after Farhat voted no on a juvenile lifer bill, dooming it to a 55-43 failure. Farhat's vote came after a tense and prolonged conversation with House Dem leadership.

Rep. Jim DeSana, R-Carleton, did not attend session today bc caucus is not acting on some of his priorities. Among those priorities is a plan to eliminate Michigan's 6-mill SET on homesteads only. DeSana would have made the difference on a juvenile lifer bill that failed 55-42.
