Launch day for book 4. Thanks to all who have helped and all contributions to awareness drive hugely appreciated .

We caught with @bendobson67 For a chat about his wonderful book Too Good to be Forgotten... we'll be linking again for his latest book Something Changed youtu.be/8jfkHTWhqao?si…
Really enjoyable to chat with @paulross on @talkSPORT last night about #somethingchanged. Sometimes with these things you end up interviewing yourself. Not with Paul. A brilliant presenter who takes a genuine interest, actually reads the books etc. Hope we can do it again Paul.

… that same month, The Specials disbanded and the polemic anger of Two Tone gave way to the hedonistic ambition of the New Romantics - ‘Thatcherism on vinyl’. July ‘81. Something Changed

44 years ago today Ghost Town arrived at number one as the most apposite chart topper of 1981 or any other year. The same week Duran Duran made the top 5 for the first time

And the letters maintain the narrative. Time Something Changed again…

Something Changed suggests change is inevitable, and yet perhaps there is nothing new under the sun. Today’s Telegraph editorial could just as easily have appeared in the mid-late 70s. Perhaps there will be another two gunslingers along soon to make 2026 a mirror of 1981

For anyone kind enough to be interested in getting a copy - and for those people who are understandably so excited they just can’t wait … Waterstones currently the better option as Amazon have a technical hitch. Must be the Bezos wedding waterstones.com/book/something…
Very fortunate to spend time with two broadcasting legends - 25 years of serious entertainment and counting. Great to chat with Paul and Andy about the book and enjoy their usual generosity to us authors. @tSHandJ @talkSPORT @Cricket_TS @PitchPublishing

After watching Adam Curtis's Shifty this book by @bendobson67 feels very timely focusing on the year of 1981, latest addition to @MCCOfficial library @PitchPublishing
1981 - a year like no other which transformed the nation. A multitude of contrasts in politics, sport, music and culture - even the weather - which swirled around each other. Two cultural icons would be the architect of change and Britain would never be quite the same again

The day after an ignominious defeat for England at Edgbaston seems an appropriate one to be publishing a book in which a preposterous, flag-waving victory on the ground 44 years ago, allied to a royal wedding the day before, helped change the mood of the nation and it’s future
