New preprint! Why are long-range connectomic interactions in the cortex dominant in shaping dynamics in some experiments but apparently negligible in others? We (w/ Rishi M, @eli_j_muller) address this by studying a new hybrid model of cortical dynamics. arxiv.org/abs/2506.19800

7. However, LLMs will become exceedingly powerful for problems that *someone* knows how to solve (in-distribution, in training data). In math research, you combine existing techniques with new creative ideas. LLMs will significantly accelerate the former part. (7/10)
6. I don’t think LLMs will replace mathematicians anytime soon. Math research is about solving problems *no one* yet knows how to solve (out-of-distribution), and this requires significant creativity, something notably absent from OpenAI’s IMO solutions. (6/10)
Excited to share our new preprint! "Principal bundle geometry of qualia: Understanding the quality of consciousness from symmetry", co-first-authored with Ryota Kanai @kanair_jp and co-authored with Chanseok Lim. osf.io/agupq_v2 We propose that the relational structure…

journals.plos.org/plosbiology/ar… Very happy to see this gigantic PLoS Bio paper accepted in Stage 2 registered report! Title: Wakefulness can be distinguished from general anesthesia and sleep in flies using a massive library of univariate time series analyses
㊗️ our paper was finally accepted by Nature Communications! Data & paper are already accessible from here: DREAM: A Dream EEG and Mentation database osf.io/preprints/psya… Thanks all coauthors for contributing the data! It was a really long journey to arrive here...
こちらの論文、出版されてます。 doi.org/10.1103/PhysRe…
D2の吉村くんと元ポスドクのArtemyさんとの共著です arxiv.org/pdf/2311.16569…
At no point does this paper claim that "the 'Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation' can be explained entirely by the energy of recently discovered Early Mature Galaxies" What it actually suggests is that these galaxies might contribute a non-negligible contamination to the…
Ahahahaha, the James Webb Space Telescope continues to deliver massive L’s for astrophysics. A new paper shows that the “Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation” can be explained entirely by the energy of recently discovered Early Mature Galaxies — massive galaxies that the JWST…
