Stunned by the death of Steve Albini. Unquestionably a giant of American indie rock, he seemed to be in the midst of a personal & professional renaissance. He was always interesting, even when he was maddening. And his drum sound is one of the greatest in recorded music. RIP.

This is such a hard, triumphant & tragic story. Never knew Malchow well, but learned so much from what he uncovered, what he revealed & what he taught us. His legacy will live on in people who formed around him, people who learned from him & learnings he shared that shaped us.
