My @spectator debut is out now, in which I discuss birth trauma and maternity care on the NHS. It's probably the hardest thing I've had to write to date, but I'm so glad I did. spectator.co.uk/article/the-fu…
It's the dumbest idea. At 16 I spent most of my time dressed in Regency clothing pretending to be in a Jane Austen novel. To be fair I still do, but I like to think I've acquired at least a degree of wisdom since then.
Votes for 16-year-olds is a terrible idea. When I was young I didn't know anything about energy policy or the tax system. Now, as a grown man, I have vague second-hand prejudices about them.
For those who subscribe to @spectator, you'll find my review of @theodoraclarke's book on birth trauma in this week's magazine. And after reading about such a serious topic, you'll be refreshed by the hosepipe ban cartoon!

This is precisely what I've been saying for the past year. The UK is not exactly post-Christian and it's not exactly repaganising either. We're actually embracing a heretical kind of Christianity, and that's why we're seeing assisted suicide becoming a reality.
I gave a speech today in an empty chamber. It’s about the need for a Christian restoration.
Thankyou to the @spectator for their excellent review of my memoir👇@BitebackPub @BirthTrauma 📕 ‘Breaking the Taboo: why we need to talk about birth trauma’ Pick up your copy here: amazon.co.uk/Breaking-Taboo…

Realized last minute that my son's school ends a day earlier than I thought. I'm supposed to get all the gifts/flowers/cards from the parents for the teachers of his class. Very much a first world problem, but please send *good vibes* that I can do this in time
“@theodoraclarke gathers heartbreaking instances of infant mortality, medical malpractice and severe post-partum trauma in the nation’s maternity wards ... Breaking the Taboo’s shocking stories illustrate the severity of the problem.”✍️@beatrixscudeler spectator.co.uk/article/the-sh…
Great to see this review from @beatrixscudeler of @theodoraclarke's book. It is an incredibly emotional read. spectator.co.uk/article/the-sh…

The best argument against the death penalty is possibly that it affects the souls of those involved in carrying it out. A hard but very powerful read by @ebruenig
I wrote July's cover story for @TheAtlantic about murder, execution, mercy, and redemption. Please read! 🙂theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…
I'll stick to Gaudy Night, thanks.
One year can change everything. Sofia Carson and Corey Mylchreest star in My Oxford Year, premiering August 1 🇬🇧 An American woman who sets out for Oxford University has her life completely on track until she meets a charming local who profoundly alters both of their lives.
What is your priority @Con_Tomlinson ? A return to a Christian England or ethnonationalism? Because I think you're conflating the two (and I say this as someone who is very concerned about the issues with immigration)
Katherine Birbalsingh's Michaela School is pedestalized as proof of how great Michael Gove’s education reforms are, and a solution for the failure of immigrants and their children to integrate organically into British culture. But I don't want to live in a Michaela School state.…
