Coolbean wheat 🌾 harvest update 2025. Waterloo yesterday. Mid 80, 58.5tw. Started FDL last night, and back at it today. Low 80 57tw so far

Continued the week by applying foliar micronutrients to a historically Mn deficient field to assess the utilization of drones for these applications as part of my @WISoyCheckoff funded research. Big thanks to A Roth and @ColetFabiano for the help! @badgerbean
Great week last week to get some drone applications in for my @WISoyCheckoff funded research. Started the week off with R3 white mold fungicide applications. Thank you @badgercropguy for the assistance! Looking forward to seeing these results. @badgerbean @badgercropdoc

Unfortunately we had to transition to web based approaches for risk maps and forecasting. Budget cuts forced these shifts. The same Sporecaster models have been integrated into both NDAWN maps and our new CPN Crop Risk Forecasting Tool. cropprotectionnetwork.org/crop-disease-f…
Irrigated White Mold Models are running high for Arlington WI on the @CropNetwork forecasting tool. Confirmed apothecia in irrigated fields in same area. Time to keep an eye on these tools as soybeans are flowering now and 10-day forecasts show cooler temps which increases risk!

Soybeans make their own nitrogen, but nodules need time and the right conditions to get going. @badgerbean of @UWMadisonExt notes nitrogen fixation can stay active into late pod fill if rhizobia are present. farmprogress.com/soybean/soybea…
You can really pick out the non-nodulating soybean varieties in Ophelia Tsai’s @WISoyCheckoff funded soybean N study!
