4:30 AM - Some of you waking up a lil' early this morning courtesy of some elevated storms A few lightning strikes detected around Dripping Springs. Most of the rain evaporating before reaching the ground which is why radar is rather unimpressive #atxwx #txwx
September 19 is the 60 day deadline to finish replacing Cow Creek Bridge on RM 1431 in North Travis County. It was ripped apart by the July 5 flood. The company can get a $1 million bonus by finishing 20 days ahead of schedule. Drivers are now using a long detour. @cbsaustin
Absolutely gorgeous sunset tonight! With special guests: Jarrell 🐄! Jarrell, TX 8:40PM #atxwx #txwx #wxtwitter
Can confirm. Went outside for less than 5 minutes this morning and had 5 or 6 mosquitos on my ankles.

Texas droughts end in Texas floods. Two months ago -> today. Our ~5 year drought has been almost entirely erased #atxwx #txwx
Wonderful to see a nearly full Lake Travis. Some drone shots I took today. #laketravis @ChikageWeather @JDarensbourgWx @averytomascowx @Hunt_Wx
We expect to close all floodgates today. Current status: - All floodgates at Buchanan Dam are closed. - One floodgate remains partially open at Wirtz and Starcke dams. - Water continues to flow over the spillway at Inks Dam, which does not have any floodgates.
Next time you're next to Lady Bird Lake, think about how much water is in there. Then multiply it by 100. That's about how much water has been captured by Lake Travis and Lake Buchanan. LB is effectively full and still passing water down to Lake Travis which is over 670ft

Floodgate operations from Lake Buchanan today. LCRA opened a total of four floodgates at Buchanan Dam on July 14 – the first floodgate operations there since May 2019. This coordinated response helps manage significant water inflows across the Highland Lakes system.
The @LCRA just opened the first floodgate at Buchanan Dam. It is the first time the LCRA has opened a floodgate on the lake since 2019. A second gate, next to it, is slowly being opened. @cbsaustin
Lake Buchanan before and after photos. These pictures were taken at Willow Point Resort on Lake Buchanan before the 4th of July flooding and after. “It hasn’t been this high, I would say, in 15 years,” said resort owner Gwen Carpenter. @cbsaustin
Fun fact: 188 megawatts of hydroelectric energy are currently entering the Texas power grid. Assuming Buchanan, Inks, Wirtz, and Starcke are all maxing out their generation capacity, 170 MW of that is coming right from Central Texas this morning #atxwx #txwx
Rainfall rates quickly tapering now in the flash flood warning area of Burnet/Llano counties. 2.5" measured in eastern Llano County. Likely many creeks/streams that are higher than usual and will remain so through 9:30 AM #atxwx #Txwx

7:05 AM - It's still pouring buckets between Lake Buchanan, Llano, and Kingsland. 1-3" there already and this storm is slowing/back-building. Rapid flooding of creeks/streams/roads ongoing. Avoid all flooded areas! #atxwx #txwx

We're now in the "Places That Haven't Flooded Since 2018" category on CR312 Llano County.
