September 19 is the 60 day deadline to finish replacing Cow Creek Bridge on RM 1431 in North Travis County. It was ripped apart by the July 5 flood. The company can get a $1 million bonus by finishing 20 days ahead of schedule. Drivers are now using a long detour. @cbsaustin



Search crews, cadaver dogs, and debris removal teams worked a week and a half to find Travis County's 10 missing flood victims. Of the 10 bodies recovered, seven have been positively identified. Identifying the remaining three will likely end recovery efforts. @cbsaustin

The @LCRA just opened the first floodgate at Buchanan Dam. It is the first time the LCRA has opened a floodgate on the lake since 2019. A second gate, next to it, is slowly being opened. @cbsaustin

The Central Texas Food Bank is expanding its outreach to support flood victims. 2 emergency pop-up food distributions are underway today in Burnet & Llano Counties. Many of those in line lost everything and need help recovering and rebuilding. @cbsaustin

The body of a Williamson County woman was found after floodwaters swept her cabin off its foundation and pushed it down a raging creek in Liberty Hill. Sherry Richardson called 911 for help Saturday morning but first responders could not get to her in time. @cbsaustin
UPDATE: Heavy rain in NW Travis County has creek levels rising this afternoon. We’re watching this creek off FM 1431 & Pecan Drive go up quickly as the rain pounds Jonestown. At least 1 home has already been destroyed. @cbsaustin
Travis County Flooding: This creek in Northwest Travis County feeds directly into Lake Travis. Overnight, it became a destructive wall of water, destroying one home in Jonestown and toppling trees and fences. There are no reports of deaths or injuries. @cbsaustin

Pope Leo XIV just appointed Bishop Daniel E. Garcia as the sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Austin. Bishop Garcia is a native Texan who served the Diocese of Austin as an Auxiliary Bishop from 2015 to 2019 before he became Bishop of Monterey in California. @cbsaustin




NEW: Starting today, cooling off in the San Marcos River may cost you more. A pilot parking program in San Marcos is charging from $5 to $25 for out-of-town visitors to park at City Park. Parking is still free for residents if they register their vehicles online. @cbsaustin
