This study complements our review of the psychometric properties of social connection measures here: alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… And clarifies the need for new valid measure assessing specific domains of social connection... More to come from @SonnetStudy @UCLPsychiatry @KITE_UHN
Our new paper examining the content of existing measures of social connection for care home residents, led by Madalena Liougas. We itemised each item in 31 measures, providing a detailed inventory of the content of these to clarify what aspect of social connection they measure.
Alzheimer's Society has published new evidence that focuses on dementia’s impact on the healthcare system and the cost effectiveness of early diagnosis and treatment. Watch the animation below showing the saving opportunities for dementia 👇:
Earlier this month @TheLancet Commission led by Prof @Gill_Livingston (@UCLPsychiatry) found that nearly half of #dementia cases could be prevented or delayed by tackling 14 modifiable health & lifestyle factors through our lives: bit.ly/4fkUwuy
New research led by @Naaheed_Mukadam (@UCLPsychiatry) suggests that public health interventions such as reducing sugar/salt intake, improving air quality & making bike helmets compulsory for children could save £4bn in England by lowering dementia risk. bit.ly/3yyI7CE
Our systematic review of instruments to assess social connection for long‐term care home residents published today alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
