There were so many details like this... They added up to a picture of *general* malice, bigotry and sloppiness. There wasn't one Bad Actor whose actions resulted in death. They all did it. Policing is a system designed to produce this kind of result.

The inquest (blocked from reaching an verdict unlawful killing) revealed: 1) The two shooters were briefed that morning that they would probably kill someone and 2) De Menezes was never positively identified. There was an unspoken assumption, in my opinion, that he would do.

I did some Wanton Remembering yesterday that got a bit of traction, which was nice. Especially since no one from the 77th Brigade Twat Farm tried it on with: "Jean Charles de Menezes is Hamas..." Which could be progress, I suppose.
