Given the ICLR drama, here's a short addendum: I rarely give borderline scores and almost never leave post-rebuttal scores on the fence. If a paper’s good, accept it; if it’s not, reject it. Borderline scores stress authors and make decisions harder for ACs.

🧵1/n Good question! My process is usually: 1) Skim the paper, take some notes; 2) Do an in-depth read and start writing strengths/weaknesses/questions (at this point I usually know the score); 3) Sleep on it and re-visit after a few days to write the final review.
