Postdoc - Passionate about viruses, protein-RNA interactions and phase separation
Happy to present my poster today at #EMBL about our recent work on the effect of RNA modifications on protein-RNA interactions! Have a look at the paper available at cell.com/molecular-ther… and try out our new algorithm catRAPID RNA modifications!
How do RNA modifications alter RNA structure and modulate interactions with RBPs? Find this out in our new work cell.com/molecular-ther…
How do Flaviviruses enhance their viral fitness by interacting with human proteins? Discover the details in our newly published computational analysis! With @DelliRiccardo and @tartaglialab. Link here: lnkd.in/dMbev5HB
Very happy to start the year with my new paper about PRALINE, a database on phase separation/ transition of ribonucleoprotein assemblies! Thanks a lot to my colleagues at @tartaglialab for the amazing work! academic.oup.com/bioinformatics…
Check out our new preprint! Happy to have worked on this project ☺️
What is the effect of adenosine to inosine modification on non-coding RNAs? @DelliRiccardo will tell ! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…… ! Proud of working together with @amiloida and Marc Torrent!
Do you want to know how SARS-CoV-2 affects phase separation? Are you curious about why there is so poor overlap among human-virus experimental interactomes? Check this out in the new paper of mine, @gVocino_ and @tartaglialab! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
If structured RNA makes stable interactions with proteins, what type of binding is promoted by unstructured RNA ? A great work with Andrea, Natalia and Marc! s.tartaglialab.com/static_files/s…
How does disorder shape molecular interactions in phase-separated condensates? Check this out in my new work finally published in JMB! A great collaboration of 3 labs: Tartaglia's (IIT), Sanchez de Groot's and Torrent Burgas’ (UAB) doi.org/10.1016/j.jmb.…
Happy to share my new work on how disorder influences molecular interactions in Stress Granules and Processing Bodies in the context of phase separation! A great collaboration of 3 labs: Tartaglia's (IIT), Sanchez de Groot's and Torrent Burgas’ (UAB). biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Happy to say my first work about Sars-Cov-2 is finally out!! Many thanks to everyone in my lab for the huge support ☺️
Our paper with Riccardo Delli Ponti on SARS-CoV-2 is finally out! The work aims to identify human proteins that interact with the virus for its replication. I am very proud of Andrea Vandelli ! Great stuff! tinyurl.com/y4mbo263
Highly topical seminar on #SARSCoV2 at #QMNHG2020 by Andrea Vandelli. #SARSCoV2 proteins #phaseseparate to human-protein condensates!

Our contribution to understand SARS-CoV-2 physical properties and interactions with human host arxiv.org/abs/2003.13655.
This is fascinating!! The proteins in our cells are at the edge of their solubility and with age they simply can't stay soluble anymore and aggregate. Huge if true. pnas.org/content/early/…
