New article alert 📜 & summary thread! A paper written by @MirNazir110 and I is out (DM if you cant access). We use Raymond Williams and Gramsci to explain why even at the height of the Congress' dominance, their ideas failed to achieve hegemony (cont): doi.org/10.1177/003232…
So the Army is denying what a serving Lt general said on a podcast (and a GOC also said on camera)x And ANI is running the denial when it has both the statements on video. Why has the army brought itself down to this level? Very sad and unbecoming of a hallowed institution.
Some media reports are circulating with respect to the deployment of AD Guns in the Golden Temple. It is clarified that NO AD guns or any other AD resources were deployed within the premises of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar (The Golden Temple): Indian Army
Didn’t realize Jayant Narlikar passed away yesterday 💔 Apart from his contributions to physics, his death also points to the dwindling away of good science communicators in India
I know Ali Khan Mahmudabad as some one who has a deep sense of service and is a committed nationalist. There is nothing that he has written which requires him to be hauled to police stations or dragged through courts of law.
My statement re the summons that I received from the Haryana State Women’s Commission. The posts that were misunderstood and objected to can be accessed on my Facebook page.
Have a few basic questions: in what ways does Asim Munir becoming field marshal increase his powers and does this mean he continues to be COAS? And if not, could a new COAS cut Munir’s power? In other words, has Munir’s power increased or has he been kicked upstairs?
Kuffir Nalgundwar, co-founder of Round Table India and a tireless anti-caste thinker, is facing a severe health crisis. After a brain stroke, Parkinson’s, and now a debilitating neurological disorder, he is bedridden and in distress.
Prof Ali Khan @Mahmudabad s unjust arrest is now receiving international attention, starting with this article in NY times: nytimes.com/2025/05/19/wor…
A literal general in the army doesn’t find anything problematic about @Mahmudabad , but self proclaimed patriots do. 👏🏽
I always maintained that in the Army the best assessment of an officer was by the men under him. This letter of support by the students of Prof Ali Khan Mahmudabad speaks volumes of the high regard they have for their teacher. Justice should be equitable. In this case it hasn’t.
The Indian National Congress stands with our Armed Forces, bureaucrats, academicians, intellectuals and their families. I condemn any character assassination, vilification, trolling, harassment, unlawful arrest of any individual and vandalism of any business entity, either…
Absolutely correct decision. Instead I propose a new poem: Hum Nahin dekhenge Laazim hain ke hum kuch Nahin dekhenge (ya sunenge, bolenge) …. Jab taj tikaaye jayenge Aur takht bithaaye jaayenge …. Uthega na koi naara Na tum bhi ho, na hum bhi hain 🙈 🐵 🙉

Just wanted to share this absolutely lovely message by Ali Khan @Mahmudabad s students, from his ‘Banish the Poets’ class:

(1/4) My second year of college, I took my first course with Prof Khan. He had a reputation for being a tough grader, strict about readings and sharp with his comments. I felt nervous as I entered his classroom.
Professor Khan was one of the finest mentors I’ve ever had the fortune of being guided by. Very few people can inspire you the way he did and continues to; and his encouragement kept me going through a very tricky period in my life. He stands steadfastly with his students and +
I am sorry Krk, I was not familiar with your game 🔥
Ali Khan got arrested for this post. Lol! I am sure Bhakts and policemen didn’t understand, what’s written in this?😜😂 Ali Ko Kisne Kaha Tha, British English Main Likhne Ko, Jo Anpadh Bhakton Ko Samajh Hi Nahi Aaye!
An excerpt from a poem I wrote for Prof Ali Khan back in 2023 🤍 @Mahmudabad
Prof. Khan is the reason I study Political Science. In one of my very first classes at Ashoka, he taught us that history isn’t just in the past—it was in our identities, our choices, our silences. He made me rethink all I know of myself and those around me.
How will members of the all-party delegation explain this arrest to the world? @ShashiTharoor @asadowaisi @priyankac19 scroll.in/latest/1082481…
बहुत शर्मनाक और दुखद है। हर बात में पुलिस ही भेजनी है तो नहीं बोलने का कानून पास कर दीजिए।
Absolutely atrocious. Solidarity with @Mahmudabad and hope he gets released soon.
