WORKER WIN: Over 300 hotel housekeepers in DC will receive $215,000 after their companies failed to pay proper overtime pay. The companies will also pay penalties and correct their practices. Workers who put in long hours week after week will get the overtime wages they earned.
Similarly, the majority of DC voters do not support the repeal of I-82 (58%) or the Sanctuary Cities law (69%), and oppose weakening Medicaid requirements (69%).

Starting today, 500 workers at upscale DC restaurants including Pastis and St. Anselm are voting on unionization. @DCfoodworkers say management treats them as expendable. One restaurant owner threatened to blacklist workers, and even fired union supporters for organizing.
